In the year of our lord 2025? I doubt it. I'd put money on "some third party cloud service was configured in a silly way". But, I would love to see details.

For a real time application, there is no better option than elixir and phoenix if you actually want to get something working and shipped. Things that you will need to do which would be wildly complex in other stacks are so simple in erlang

I've been writing elixir for years (i think since 0.14?) and have been writing liveview for years. I'm all in on elixir in general, but I'm not sure I'd use liveview for another big project. Maybe it's just rose col

Originally I was excited to see that kroger had an API, until just about the first thing that the ToS said was "you can't use this for price comparison". And yea, I imagine dynamic pricing will make things even more complicat

I don't own and probably never will own an apple product but I'm very glad to see this. Anything that weakens Facebook's stranglehold over society is a good thing.

It has become a bit of a meme lately. I think there's something to be said about a malaise era leading to an uptick in erratic behavior. But at the risk of sounding smug and condescending, as someone who actually bought 10 acres "
