Just playing around with it and the UI is really intuitive and snappy. Nice job!

So this dumps the documents returned from the vector store into a prompt to the LLM. How does it work when there are many documents returned? What's the upper limit there?

I actually think the reputation of early Bosch FI systems being horrible is pretty overblown. I haven't had a hard time diagnosing L-jet issues (I haven't touched D-jet). It's pretty simple and while you can't plug a sca

Google meet works fine on firefox. The GCP console is an affront to the web on any browser, though.

Definitely they have shortcomings in Java but throwing the concept out entirely is a bummer. It creates a whole shadow type system where all bets are off.

At a previous job, we had "no meetings thursdays". It was great for a while, and then product management started scheduling meetings on thursdays "because it's the only time when everyone is free"

It's tough to read as a lurker. The page keeps scrolling around and re-rendering. I think the "realtime" promise is pretty misguided.

How is this any different from Kirkland brand stuff from Costco? They just happen to have a reasonably high bar because they're playing the long game. It's not the practice that you likely have an issue with, it's the individ

Maybe it's expensive to generate the 403 for a private subreddit. A place I once worked had a 404 handler that was extremely expensive, but nobody noticed for a while because 404s are relatively rare. One time a vulnerability scanner t

In dense urban cores, I think people (to the extent that they are able) can and will self select for what they prefer. IMO urban cores should be fairly hostile to cars, in order to maintain space efficiency and work well for the largest qua

The car community is super big and diverse. I found my niche in budget endurance racing, since it's basically hacking on cars. There's really something for everyone. Good on you for organizing stuff. People get a lot out of it.

No, I said it won't play out like that given the race to the bottom. My comment was from an idealistic pov, because the parent comment gave me the opportunity to choose two, and those are the two I would choose if I was king :)

better wages, us jobs. easy. And don't replace your iPhone every year, because now it costs 50% more. Of course, walking back on the race to the bottom will be difficult. So I don't know how it plays out in the real world.

I halfway agree, but I think at some point most people hit diminishing returns. I went from a regular job at a medium large company (though I didn't have 4 hours of meetings each day...) to a job where there are 4 people and none of th

It's fairly straightforward if the car is unmodified, as everything should be fused. Multi-meter between positive terminal and positive lead and pulling each fuse to see when the drop goes away will isolate the circuit. Then you'v

Every time a crazy workaround for node.js's shortcomings arises I think about how hardware engineers must feel. Your magnum opus is giving people 2, 4, even 16 core supercomputers and then the software engineers come along and start us
