Sorry, not sure how this helps dan_the_welder or any other care owner in the situation described?

As a cafe owner... I don't think there is much you can do. As far as I can tell, you did the right thing (or certainly not the wrong thing). The problem is that this is happening in the first place... I'm not sure i can reasonably come up

Sure. I was just trying to point out two things. 1) While the rest of the article presents great points, this point is much weaker. 2) Lawmakers need to take the content of this article to heart. Unfortunately, the mention of drugs will p

Great article. I think it points out something that lawmakers should be aware of. I'm not sure I see how this bit fits in (and unfortunately I think this also makes it less likely that the rest of the article will get the attention it dese

Even then it depends. If you are optimizing across computational cycles then I think this article applies (simple example would be a better sort algorithm). If you are optimizing across data retrieval then yeah, your probably right, its m

Fair enough. What I was really trying to get across is my hesitation to take conclusions from the best/most well known series and apply them to the genre in general. But I'm curious to know which ones are your favorites. A lot of Star Tre

While I agree that this is the ideal, I don't know that this is always what happens. I think its dangerous to make conclusions about sci-fi/fantasy writers based on some of the best in the genre. I'm not very widely read outside the best,

He makes a good point that just because GDP begins to rise it doesn't mean that we should stop worrying, but I don't really like his definition of when we say the recession is over. He wants it to be: "when GDP returns to (or near) its tre

I wouldn't think outside scrutiny would be sufficient. Since a revolution is going to happen from the inside out, its the people of China that would need to know whats going on and decide to act. This is difficult because of how controlle

I'm no expert, but my understanding is a little different. Its not that energy "has" mass but that energy and mass are two different forms of the same thing, i.e. they are equivalent. If some process is able to convert mass to energy then

I don't know that I agree with this. If you don't like just following rules, then you want to try to understand why the rules work and make sense. E.g. why are you allowed to add "x" both sides of the equation or divide both sides by 2? T

Thats especially true given that you want to add in symbols, numbers and capital letters. You are going to end up needing to write it down anyway.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe that people are considering elements in fiction as a starting point for (what they perceive to be anyway) a large ethical question.

But isn't that self defeating? If China decides that they want to go to the moon for strategic purposes and that private enterprise is the way to do it, then they will loosen up restrictions and tell the American engineers to come over and
