It's hardly "out there" though. A hacker would still need to hack dropbox before they could access your keepass db and begin brute forcing. What makes your own private server more secure than dropbox's network?

This is one of two completely unrelated Js projects called moon, both of which have been posted to Show HN in the last three hours At time of writing, they are next to each other. I got really confused for a few minutes trying to figure out

That would be a neat option, but I don't think its possible at the moment. you have to take all or nothing. You raise a good point though. If they could make electron more modular it would save on a lot of that bloat everyone always co

I am absolutely blown away by this. it makes me feel completely inadequate as a coder. I don't think I could write this game at all , let alone make it fit into 1024 bytes. And I've been working with JS for a decade.

Depends on your use-case I suppose. That's why most of these editors are customisable. When writing posts on SO, I've used bold, italic, and strike-through in the same post. In every day usage, bold/underline/strike may

so in that case isn't it a good idea to try and reduce your overheads wherever possible? And in the case of windows store apps, the runtime is already on the users systems and they're just downloading the packaged JS/HTML

sometimes, you can be sure of the browser / rendering engine ahead of time, and you don't need all that "bloat". For instance, react-native, electron or windows store apps.

typos - "app worn in electron" = "app written in electron" and "devs who wasn't to release" = "Devs who want to release".

This should get more votes. It should be an internet requirement that a website has to be functional and readable without Js. I don't know how this could be implemented though

I think its less about a hard limit and more about comparing to other apps out there that do the same thing. Music players for instance. 1by1 < foobar < VLC < Songbird / Spotify

The thing about electron is, there's a time and a place for it. VsCode is an excellent use case for electron - a complex cross platform app with a very quick release cycle, a large plugin ecosystem and a requirement for display and pro
