It's still an EU border so unless they accept the single market (free movement of people&goods) it does have to become a real border.

They do need the HQ for tax reasons but they wouldn't need to hire that many people (more than in London for example). They do that because they want to.

If you are talking just about $ then totally but there's more than just money. Big companies have bureaucracy, corporate politics, etc.

I wouldn't say 'very easy' but 6 years after you get an H1B you are cap-exempt. So any new employer can apply for an H1B for you right away though it only gives you the years left in the original visa not another 6y.

Also the intentional lack of parking. Even if I would get a car I wouldn't have where to park it (or it would be very expensive). The US mandates parking which prevents high density benefits and increases building costs.

It will lead to a lot of that but there are limits. Personal use of car/etc is considered a taxable benefit, only 'business use' can be expensed but it could be abused.

The problem with giving outright shares compared to options is you owe taxes on that. In the taxman view you got something (shares valued via 409A) on which you have to pay taxes even if the shares you got are not liquid.

The EU commission is unelected in the same way the prime minister is unelected (directly), that does not mean it's undemocratic. There is 1 commissioner proposed by each EU country.

I think it's mainly to prevent spam/multiple account creation. Having different CCs is harder than just multiple emails. It also makes it easy to upsell you to paid plans.

But that's only the US. UK/EU has shown that you can have instant free bank transfers.

Having the money offshore, away from possible capital controls does not necessarily mean committing tax fraud by not declaring the income.

Norway is part of the European Free Trade Association. It has access to the EU market but it means it has to respect certain laws and there is freedom of travel/work.

This looks like for on going verification rather than the initial one on sign up. The issue is drivers sharing accounts.

The Thunderbolt display wouldn't work anyway since they decided to not support Thunderbolt. It would require an additional controller and power for it.

You have to buy it separately. But it does let you use a monitor, charge and use a USB device at the same time. It does everything I need.

That's for 2.5" SATA SSDs. Some people have embedded PCIe drives. And on some macs they are soldered. Regardless, reserving 10GB for offline help isn't that bad.

BT sells FTTH in new developments, with 300mbps down but only 20mpbs up. Exactly on the same fiber I get 1gbps symmetric from Hyperoptic. It's amazing they constrained themselves so much.

Still it's not at the iPhone speed, 6S uses fast NVME flash. Definitely not 100$ but not comparable with an microSD card either.

Exactly, that's what I said. There are may across ocean routes but this means it limits its market and the routes it can run. It also makes less sense to have it as a single private jet.

The issue with it is that supersonic flight (due to noise) is only allowed over non-populated areas so a business jet variant is less useful unless you spend most of your time flying over the ocean (and not coast-to-coast for instance).

One issue with this is the "boom" (from their name). It only works across non-populated areas due to the noise as their sample routes show. It's going to severely limit the opportunity.

Correct. Many don't come right away to make a startup, they work, get contacts&experience and then the startup appears.
