I think the point is: "per file". Sure you an run a Rust LSP in one file and a JS LSP in another, but you can't drive both in the same file.

Oh hell yeah, an AI driven debugger that hallucinates memory values and instruction pointer positions.

Yes. The only wheel re-inventing I agree with is for learning purposes. I one would say rewrite SQLite, be my guest, it's a really good way to learn. But proposing it as a replacement is....bold. Might still be something to it, but th

I would argue that your advantage right now is that YOU are the one position they can't replace with LLMs, because your knowledge requires exact fine detail on pointers and everything and needs that exact expertise. You might have toug

I think the problem is that with the over-reliance on LLMs, that expertise of writing the foundational libraries that even other languages rely on, is going away. That is exactly the problem.

This is just another point showcasing how useless LLMs are. They either hallucinate OR are polluted by "wrong" information on websites. If I need to double or triple check everything an LLM does, I'd rather just do it myself

I definitely get the Common Lisp kick. I dabbled with it before, but then got sidetracked by other languages and back then the REPL didn't click for me. After I understood the power of the live image concept though (and after switching

Finally I can run Clojure in Common Lisp :D Joke aside, that is an amazing project.

I wholeheartedly agree with the turbo bloat problem. Machines are so much more powerful nowadays, but most programs feel actually slower than before. Very cool project. And the website design is A+

Yeah, but even there, if one were to use no LSP or other completions, Hindley Milner doesn't help while editing as you won't see the inferred types. It comes down back to good naming and the compiler at the end.

Yes. Because at the end, the code should be the spec or the final source of truth for it.

On the other hand one could argue that you should understand the code you write. A super complex in-database graph traversal should probably be properly understood in case performance problems pop up. Or the problem itself should be broken

OnePageRules [1], a free Warhammer alternative has something like that. They have a short quick version and an extended version. [1]: https://www.onepagerules.com/

These JS developers would probably shiver at seeing many Common Lisp repos with a last commit like 12 years ago and still working like a charm.

I think what FreeBSD and any other systems need is either compatibility or something similar to NixOS. Declarative systems management seems ripe for BSD derivatives. But it has to be done right. As much as I love GUIX for example, GUIX is h

For me, part of it is also the beauty of the ISA. I think it is just really well thought out with its extensions and namespacing for custom ISAs.

Absolutely kudos to that effort. I love hacking around with CL and some Schemes, and an effort like this is just amazing.

The name might be hard to push to management, but I love that it is s-expr based. I'll definitely check it out, but if you don't mind me asking: how good is the REPL side on Jank? If it is remotely close to SBCL, then I might beco

Watching it on Safari gives me the same Javascript warning. No extensions loaded. Otherwise, checked with chrome, that looks like exactly what I wanna use. The CL sodlib is a bit overloaded already, but if you wanna go batteries included, i
