Humorous, sure, but I wonder what percentage of Google Books users will get the reference. If I didn't know about Twitter's fail whale, "Whale Fail" might seem totally random.

Sure, Reddit's problems are caused by its size, the same way that Digg's are caused by its size. But this does not make the groupthink, mob mentality etc. any less irritating.

Technical explanation: The Disqus comments don't load until a second or two after the permalink's anchor jump (#comment-55003614) is attempted by the browser. So when the browser tries to jump to the comment, the comment isn't there yet.

Seconded, plus if you do ever need to use Google, try http://scroogle.org or http://ixquick.com instead. Both anonymously scrape results from Google and don't keep records.

I switched from Google Reader to Friendfeed about two months ago. So far, it's a much better fit for me. It looks and feels like Twitter but you can add RSS feeds (using the "imaginary friends" feature). Like Twitter, there's no "unread ite
