AWS knows which AZ is affected and they permutate them so AZ-A can be different for different people, but why can't they tell me which one is affected (from my perspective) when I'm logged into the console? "Availability Zone

We ditched PgPool for PgBouncer for connection pooling from our webservers. PgPool tries to do way to much, and the documentation is horrible. PGBouncer been rock solid compared to PgPool. I'd love for PgBouncer to poll the servers it&

Thank you for this. Personally I use Sublime and it does a lot of the things the article mentions, but I will take a look at PyCharm. We use vagrant and salt stack to maintain a consistent development environment across developers as well a

When I tell people what I do, they ask me if I do it because I couldn't get a real job. Also, I can't help but think Zuckerberg's sister's reality show is a kind of meta/ironic commentary against the hipness of being an entrepreneur.

If you just need a simple key/value, a good way to go is HSTORE in PostgreSQL. It allows only string key/values, and not complex structures. Use the JSON datatype if you need lists, nested objects etc. With HSTORE you get indexes on keys.
