You know you've been Rickrolled too many times when you recognize the tinyurl shortcut. Sigh. :)

Heh. I took the advice, went in and checked source expecting to see the captcha string in a hidden form element. I use NoScript and Sony.com is not on my whitelist (read: I could just select/copy the string). This was worse than I imagined.

Hmm. Personally this is how I always thought of the original generic TLDs (com/net/org). In my head I think I even applied the idea to .xxx, .aero and what-not as well. Pretty much how I expect Libya to do whatever they want with the .ly do

My English is perhaps not 100% when it comes to describing legal matters like this, so I'll just quote Wikipedia to clarify what I was trying to say. From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_Assange : On 20 August 2010, Swedish police beg

The fact that he claims to be into politics and then goes on to say that the arrest of Julian Assange was absurd speak volumes to me. Assange was arrested due to rape charges and then refused to show up for preliminary hearings. But maybe S

I've been sitting on this complaint for a while now. It is really, really starting to annoy me that comments on a webpage rely on JavaScript hosted by some other website. I use NoScript for a reason. I temporarily whitelist pages which I (a

I guess you can argue that no more harm can be done to the poor users of Mt. Gox but I disagree. Why would you post this? If someone really wanted to pair them up, they could have but that at least would have taken -some- determination. Obv

What do you mean by large projects? The size of the files they transfer? Your machine -> TOR -> hacked home user or server -> your target. This way you only transfer the files between the target and the hacked server, and from t

Or it could, again, be stupidity by MtGox: This was a "test account" that had no real user attached to it. After all, if the trade is internal on MtGox, it's just a double in a database. If that is the case, then hell yes, I can see why MtG

You're probably thinking of the guy who claimed he lost 25k bit coins (which at that moment was "worth" 500k USD). This was a trade of 500,000 bit coins.

Something is off here. This cannot be the entire story. The guy is from UK and linking to some content in the US, additionally he says: the server was not based in the US How could he possibly be extradited to the US? I mean, I can s

I doubt they use only "paid for" services in their chain. There are very likely normal user-boxes (like your moms) and "forgotten" servers involved as well. It's not easy to back trace when you have to send in someone to do forensics on a c

Since I'm not from the US I figured it'd be pretty safe to pull it down no matter what it was. Turns out it's a bunch of mysql-dumps in txt format, some admin passwords and server logs. I am guessing there's a lot of pain in there, but I on

I looked at the video without sound, but from visuals alone I never got the impression that this was intended for the desktop. In the demo when he switched to the "desktop" it looked pretty much like any desktop OS to me.

Well, the short answer is: hard to say. A lot of work is off-loaded on GPU's now days, and theoretically there should be no reason why talking to the video-card through a browser should be slower than talking to it through a portable execut

I hear a lot of people saying that. Interesting, however, is that I, as European, don't even think twice about it[1]. My brain must be wired to look at the context primarily. Why that is, I can only take a stab at: I guess we see a lot more

This almost sounds as if it's a bug, say, an int that flipped over. Wouldn't an unsigned 16 bit int of milliseconds flip over after some 8-9 years? On the other hand, it's a bit hard to believe that IBM Security Systems would miss that... S
