One important thing for an embedded engineer (just like any software engineer!) to know is how to select an appropriate solution for a given problem. This includes both hardware and software, and do it yourself vs off the shelf. I think it

Capacitors do not conduct any current in steady state but rather conduct more current with higher frequency. The equation is i = C dV/dt So depending on what frequencies you want to filter out you can change the capacitance C.

One interesting thought, 7 KLOC per FTE/year works out to about 28 lines of code per work day! It does not seem like much until you realize each line of code requires integration, testing, bug fixing, and documentation if you are luck

For embedded C work I do like to mark global variables with a Hungarian g_, all other prefixes are generally handled pretty well by the IDE's type hinting. Other than that I agree Hungarian can go!
