Don't exercise too hard! I just injured my knee by ignoring pain and assuming it was tendonitis when in reality it was a cartilage tear. Get those joint pains checked out by a doctor! It is easier to fix if you catch it early! Some peo

I'd argue that an idiot peasant who sees something that works and adopts it is smarter than the anti science people we have yammering on social media right now!

Maybe saying "most people are stupid" is wrong. I know even medieval peasants had to be knowledgeable about a lot to farm and survive. However, I do believe most people are uncurious. Since information is so cheap, it seems many p

Just when I start thinking I am smart, someone drops this :) Haskell certainly looks graceful but is imposing! I feel pretty good if I can do functional stuff in Rust, but this is next level.

Like a lot of things in life, the battle is won before it begins. Having alternative offers, doing well on your career and interviews, these are all things that will grow your salary.

Over communicate! Write a quick doc on any proposal or design you're working on if it's big enough. Post regular updates about progress, even if others don't. Change up your environment. I sometimes sit downstairs, upstairs,

Well there's value, but also supply and demand! If prompt engineering is easier that means more people will be able to do it!

What's funny is when you actually know people who are influencers, it turns out their lives actually are nothing like what it is online! I think we are all a lot more dull than some would like to admit.

It is crazy. I believe their thinking though is that people have different opportunities, so you should have basically risen to the top at whatever place you were. Yes it is nonsense!

The problem with your statement here is the "you MUST hire from those pools". That is not happening. We can hire anybody. Basically, LOOKING at new sources is good! That doesn't mean at all we lower the bar or exclude white m

I'm building a cli / tui program for dealing with jira. I enjoy project management, and even jira, but just hate how long it takes to do anything. Luckily the API is pretty easy to work with!

I do not think it's quite this nefarious... They make most of their money from the merchants. The argument being, hey customers who use our BNPL spend more money. Now, that also doesn't sound great honestly!

Hey sometimes gift cards are on sale! So in effect a pay now buy later. My favorite restaurant often has a Christmas sale on gift cards (something like $10 when you buy $100) so I'll get a few for myself.

What's funny about this is if you are an athlete who cheats constantly while growing up - you'll never develop the skills to be able to make it as a pro. Interesting how students don't see this same situation with their homew
