Totally agree. Although wherever I go, I map "jk" to <ESC> since I find that so much easier to enter Normal Mode.

That's crazy. I'm thinking Hanlon's razor applies here, there is absolutely no evidence that tether is legit.

Eh you'll probably be fine without his Twitter history. A lot of his takes (such as the recent one on Marxism and the one on editors) were basic and laughable.

I have no inside info of Twitter besides being an interested bystander, but it seems like he's flat out ignored advice (and later fired the advice givers) at multiple points since taking over. I'm sure anyone left is only still ar

I'm sorry but saying "he is a smart guy" is a bit ridiculous at this point. A "smart guy" certainly may not know everything about running a social network, but he _would_ listen to the advice from those around them.

I would love to have some positive XFN feedback! The farther away the better! Unfortunately I was helping out with our hiring process, and let's just say with the recent downturn that hasn't been the most important work lately :(

I feel like there are a lot more promotions to go around in bigger companies though! I've worked in smaller orgs and promotions are harder to come by, if there is even a career ladder at all that is.

I am a staff engineer at meta. I can certainly relate to Carmack's pain in getting things done on a large scale, there are I think about 9 levels between me and Zuck (so a lot of ladder climbing to reach my goal of CEO)!! But I don&#

Hey I am a engineer working in this space. To me I think there are a few factors - 1) I think the whole metaverse thing grew way beyond what Meta/Mark Zuck initially thought (said this in a recent verge interview). Also people seem to

I mean, it's not like this was some super fine print detail here though... It (we hold your money/crypto for you 1:1 isolated and separated) was basically the entire point of the product.

And this is what really ruins crypto to me. With no actual legal protection, no trust, "code is law", am I expected to keep up with every pull request? And of course these exchanges are completely opaque on top of that.

I don't see title inflation being too big an issue at large companies. At my megacorp we have fairly well defined expectations at each level and managers calibrate across teams. It's basically: - junior, fresh out of school and is
