I've a theory but that is not backed by data. Land prices in India are dropping rapidly. Here how (my hypothesis): People for generations have thought that land prices will always increase. It might have been true before Demonetization

Yes. Things that have never been done before on such large scale can be only be perfected with incremental changes after gathering data.

Exactly. The science and art of economics is also a technique with only probability based outcomes. If the underlying assumptions change, then things will slowdown / grow in unexpected ways.

Even though finance and economics overlap, I think that comment was referring to the social and psychological side of economics.

Exactly. If a substantial amount of people stop trusting the "promissory state money", then the inflation will be uncontrollable (or not controllable by the state) and the state won't be able to give anything in return of the

There is a relatively low understanding among the public of how money is created and how the economy expands in today's modern economy after 1971 Gold standard deviation. If some part of the monetary system is taken over by something t

The processor is atleast 100x more powerful. The display is 100x better. Speakers, cameras, sensors all have advanced. And yet your battery still lasts on one-charge-per-day. That must be surprising.

You are right, but the pace at which the battery news is coming these days (frequency), has certainly increased many fold. Can't wait to have 1Kwh under $50 if this "double the capacity" ever actually comes true though!

I thought of a non-malicious use. Celebrities could sell the 'rights' to their faces and then ordinary people could 'act' in commercials and later on even movies and then just stick the face of the celebrities?! xD Celeb

Politicians and celebrities are all about their faces. They wouldn't allow for anonymizing their footage even though the 'bad' guys will want to exactly use their faces on fake videos for exactly the same reasons.

Totally agree on the price point. But, the study mentions unused lithium trapped in the battery, so if a solution if found to make that useful, the only costs increase would be to recover the R&D costs. If any new new chemistry is used

It could significantly impact the prices of the electric cars by giving same range in half the batteries. Reduced weight will also help in increase in speed.

The zinc-bromide batteries are doing good work in Australia, aren't they? They seem to have >5000 complete battery cycles. I think that's the best one can get for stationary applications.

But you can grow 10 tonnes per acre and so on a 100 acre plot, you grow 1000 tonnes and make 100,000$ in 4 months if you grow corn. And if the profit margin is 100$ per ton. I'd take it any day.

That's great. I was making a similar hypothesis. Didn't know about the data though. Here's my argument: I agree that capitalism is such a system that allows for expansion of wealth by means of mass production. But as America

I don't think the mechanical mechanism is that hard. Once they detect a weed ahead, they could just lower a small plough-like thing in worst case scenario. Or a pinch could go down, grab the weed and go up. But yes, they seem be secret

Will share links once I find them. But the technology is: A library of weed images is used to check if the thing visual to the camera is a weed. If it is, then pluck it or spray chemicals (here: pluck). If not, move on.
