You are expecting delivery of your dream. Where some companies get quite close, close enough for a lot of people and they are dismissed. This vastly improves process of generating artworks. Like it or not there is still human. But given a j

There are tools for live migrations for most popular databases. Also a lot of Postgres DDL is very fast and/or capable of happening live.

I think a lot of people are allured by the idea of starting a startup and it shows in your numbers. Where as "natural" founders are allured by "an idea" and decide the best way to push forward on this idea will be throu

What? For sure a lot of engineering happened as a result of scientists and practioners discussing possible advancements. I have completely different understanding of history. Was not Archimedes a scientist that was presented with a task tha

And thus we become more resilient. I know a lot of people who trusted news, now they verify, research presented data.

Try and do that. Likely those people won't care too much about you, they lean towards authority figures in their community. It is way easier to find those guys and corrupt them. Rather than running some underground news agency changing

Babashka is good if you are looking for lightweight scripting.

Why nobody does that? For me a lot of stuff is in the pudding, if something is great surely there would be one non-fiat backed country succeeding.

For small stuff you can also use babashka - which is graal aot interpreter that is decently fast for scripting. It might be a good gateway drug into clojure.

Lisp and assembly are rather different. Now Clojure by most is considered a lisp, but lisp jobs tend to mean common lisp which is very different from clojure.

Clojure companies tend to be on the remote side of things for a long time due to this reason. It was difficult enough to recruit locally, that they decided to go for remote sooner.

This is true, clojure is not super opinionated as people tend to think. Its nice, as you get to ramp up easily. There seems to be a steady path where you start with writing "java" in lisp and end up with pure functions and 1 reduc

Yes, you get the eco system. But to what extend, the very thing mentioned in article rails-like framework is not really accessible right? I am ok with clojure not backing web framework, but also this one place where interop with springboot

I think RH emits fun grumpy vibes, the good kind. Seasoned dev who is tired that his way of dealing with programming is not more prevalent. Very down to earth, lets just do it better.

I think even without growing part. You can milk 24k+ subs channel way beyond $100 per month. Especially in tech space. I know youtubers with 60-70k and its become profitable fulltime job for them.

You are thinking about market incorrectly. Thinking you have created 1M value for the company is a bit silly. Your work has this value only within context of that company, otherwise just take it away and enjoy the profits.

Ok, having recently worked in Germany its a bit overexaggerated. I think now, senior engineers can be reaching 80-110k quite easily. Secondly, american wages are not inflated but are high due to original demand being in US.

This would be first red flag for me. If someone from the getgo positions himself as doing you a favour, switch - it is not going to get better. At best its uncontrolled ego problem, at worst its a scheme to dry you up.

I think the goal is not to eliminate "failure", but reduce it. Failure will always exist but it always requires interpretation. Thus the credos of "failure is learning experience", "don't be afraid to fail"

And what is the solution? Essentially at the end of the day you want to design: effective labour as service. If only it was this simple we would have it already. Not saying you should not put important clauses into contract to perhaps later
