Did I miss it in the article where "big tablets" actually liberate the "forgotten worker" from the shared work space? How does that work? :)

What about maintainability here, how would you rate it vs. (go, python, etc.)? I.e. coming into a new code base, etc?

Here's one comparison with G1: https://blog.pusher.com/golangs-real-time-gc-in-theory-and-p... where G1 still had some reasonably large pauses FWIW. Which is surprising isn't its billing to not do that? But FWIW.

I use jruby on my hobby projects at time (GUI support is great!) however...the startup time is...always...so...awful...it is truly painful. I'm basically moving on to either crystal or go now, it just wasn't worth it anymore.

I don't know what the right answer is. I'm just really afraid that if you toss "some people" 1.5K/month, that they don't have to earn, they may use it to buy drugs and then where are we?

If they really want this to go wide spread, they should make a way for locals to "make money" on the machines, like they can resell them for $2 then it could spread and be self-sustaining, and everywhere would have $2 glasses, whi

Last time I ordered from (them or their competitor) they asked for PD (pupillary distance) is that enough or are the prescription ones still better?

The book "your money or your life" would content that because work is exhausting you, in essence, it is "costing you" the work hours plus the hours to recoup. So count those all as work hours now...the real cost as it

Interestingly, I was about to make a related (?) comment, that I think it's important to think hard about the effect it has on some people that they are "provided for fully" by the government. The people that I've met wh

I'm all for a UBI. Then I can quit my day job and "do whatever I want" instead. Including saving the world. Case in point just the other day I sat down and calculated, because my state legislature hasn't expanded medi

I know they run large (presumably) copper lines from Utah to California to pump out electricity. That can't have been cheap, how bad can it be to pump it trans atlantic? LOL

My question is similar...is the US fitting most of the bill for R&D currently, since apparently we get ripped off for prescription drugs? (or are we getting ripped off? maybe it costs that much to develop the drugs dunno)

Unfortunately I'm the same way, side projects really addict me, and in a bad way. I'm quite happy while doing them (LOL) but then a few days afterward I'm a grumpy terrible human being while withdrawing. Any advice out there

Serving others tends to help out with my own happiness here. :) Since we're on the subject, other things that help: reading scriptures, meditation, relationships (others, family), etc. And those typically don't cost much money LOL
