I wonder if we would even have heard of the guy if he would have sticked to one problem and attempted to finish it entirely.

I see lots of talk about lack of usefulness in combat. I agree with most, but the cobra maneuver illustrates something important about the post-stall behavior of an airplane. It is incredibly difficult to keep the vortices symmetrical durin

I have seen it in a VB6 codebase, but never used it. I can imagine that it is going to make refactoring interesting. Better keep everything up to date, or it can become misleading. Tooling might help with this, but this is probably the same

I wonder... in a world where everybody talks... Who is listening? It's not as if the world lacks ideas or opinions. If anything, we lack wisdom.

Not Amsterdam, but Utrecht.. But still. I think Utrecht might be more bike friendly than Amsterdam, with a clear network of central bike ways and free secure bike parking throughout the city. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fe

I have seen this happen to junior developers. In hindsight I think it is much more effective to pair them up with a senior developer instead of waiting for a pattern to become apparent during the daily scrum.

I would be very interested in seeing a study that concludes that technology has made us suffer less. Perhaps it makes sense to define suffering? If you would define it as "expecting from the world what it can not give you", I thin

Thanks for posting this. I have worked on non critical flight software and thought that this philosophy might work well. I wonder how easy the certification is for such software? For work I might have to write Do178 code in the future.
