Well there's about 1.5M Portuguese nationals and/or descendants in France and the French still can't figure out our naming system or account for it in their bureaucracy, so I'm not sure that the anglos stand out in that

Many writers are doing their job just fine without owning the whole range of Apple's current offering, nor is there a surge in global writing talent imputable to the advent of the Apple Watch. It's cool if it works for you, but th

I agree with you. The Dropbox move turned my previously smooth workflow into a much more convoluted system. For GDrive (I use that for work), [insync]( https://www.insynchq.com/ ) is not 100% perfect but was worth the one-tim

Yes I can imagine it to be annoying for some use cases. My Carbon has, among others, 2 USB-A ports, 2 USB-C ports plus a trackpoint and a pretty good trackpad. My older Thinkpads have more USB-A ports than I'll ever need. So the unifyi

Use the Unifying receiver, that's what I've been doing for 10 years with multiple devices. It costs like 15 bucks, it's tiny and works flawlessly for any OS/device combo I throw at it, including the Ubuntu 16 + MX Master

With flyway you need to pay for a license to get down migrations. You can always write the down migrations anyway and apply manually when needed.

The old spire was taken down after the Revolution because it was in bad state and in danger of falling over the structure. A new one was built in the big mid-19th restoration of Viollet-le-Duc. Source, the chief architect of the current res

You could solve that by altogether dropping the Venn diagram metaphor when reasoning about joins. This is the number one problem I see with junior devs who have a hard time grokking SQL. If you think about a join as a cartesian product with

If US companies take that route, that would give fledgling EU startups that have no choice but to comply with GDPR from day one a nice little moat around a market of half a billion people. (And cause the survivors to come stronger out of it

I'm with you but in my experience it's a lost fight. Most of the projects I come across these days follow the id convention. The advantages of using person_id are even more obvious in multiple joins, such as a star schema wher

That is indeed unfortunate but the windows version runs decently on Wine. It's a pain to figure out the exact versions of Evernote and Wine that will work + the fixes (currently I'm on Evernote 6.4 and Wine 2.1 using PlayOnLinux).
