I've started using clojure.spec[0] in my regular day programming with an eye on using generative testing, which I understand is a form of fuzzing. I'm very new to this, but it feels incredibly practical in terms of bang for buck -

He mentions it at the end, but I'd strongly agree that Clojure addresses the issues he mentions. I see a lot of discussion in this thread about Elixir and Phoenix, but I'd take another look at Clojure. It's got a strong, frie

I would check out the book "Free to Learn" by Peter Gray - he goes into why "unschooling" or democratic schooling can be effective. It really changed my outlook on education. I had previously read "A Mathemetician&#

I don't use a smartphone, but I think there's an old android phone lying around my apartment. Could I use that to set up this desktop version and then never need to bother with the smartphone again? Or would you need to use the ph

Disclaimer: I'm a NixOS user who is interested in switching to Guix but have not actually tried it yet. Both package managers (Nix and Guix) and the distributions (NixOS and GuixSD) are very young, so expect some missing packages and s

A public good is a technical term in economics. One useful way of categorizing goods is to place them along two axes - excludability and rivalry. Public goods are categorized non-excludable and non-rival. Non-excludable means you can't

I wonder if this could be improved with IPFS[0] - it would gain the benefits of a distributed infrastructure, content addressing is built in, and it has an http portal for convenience. [0] http://ipfs.io/

I don't have experience with Om, but another comparable React wrapper in the Clojurescript world is Re-Frame, and it has a top-notch community. The original developers are still active, but there are many new contributors who are addin

I've been using Emacs daily for about 2.5 years. This summer I decided to try Spacemacs. While I found the setup pretty smooth, I was unable to get certain behaviors to function like I was used to, so I ended up just going through the

I found this article[0] a pretty enlightening tour of how SOLID principles don't require traditional OO. You might find it useful in transitioning - it explains how each of these concepts maps onto idiomatic Clojure. [0] http:/&#x
