I personally can't take any models from google seriously. I was asking it about the Japanese Heian period and it told me such nonsensical information you would have thought it was a joke or parody. Some highlights were "Native Ame

People rail against it all the time. They just don't walk the walk. I will say though. Theoretically you can still "opt-out" of it. Visit with old people and see how you don't need to live with all these services lol

This is the vibe I got. For better or worse, it seems people in Europe enjoy/pursue equality more than individual success. I know many people that move to the US to "escape" that system though and they've been quite su

Yep. I actually am a co-author of a paper that has been published and while I was working on it, I realized how easy it would have been to make the data agree or disagree with the hypothesis. Based on the feedback of reviewers, you see th

Oh for sure. It would be very easy to determine if the data is bad (in most cases) if someone tells you where to look. It is almost impossible to expect people to put their mental resources to trying to "crack" every paper that

You can make the data say almost anything. IMO, this happens way more than anyone thinks. When you only have 2-5 people that _actually_ read a paper and they have to slog through it, its not too shocking stuff like this could happen.

I totally agree its important, so I hope it doesn't go the way of Netscape. If they focused only on privacy, that would be fine (since its advertised as such). It really wasn't one issue or another that caused me to abandon it,

I just don't like Mozilla, as a company, for many reasons. The main ones being: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitchell_Baker#Negative_salary... The pay wouldn't be so egregious if it wasn't a constant pa

It is also crazy that the "winning move" was to just do nothing and look like a genius and coast off that for the rest of their lives. Who in their right mind would consider them for a board position now.

Asking ChatGPT (until someone else answers) says that to remove a board member usually takes a super majority, which makes much more sense... but still seems to imply they need at least 4/6.

Ah, I really like that theory! I mean, I still wonder though if they really only need 3 ppl fully on board to effectively take the entire company. Vote #1, oust Sam, 3/5 vote YES. Sam is out, now the vote is "Demote Greg",

Well, there has to be some sort of framework in which they operate, no? OpenAI isn't a single person, so decisions like firing the CEO have to be made somehow. I'm wondering about how that framework actually works.
