So sorry to hear this. Makes my blood boil… can’t stand fraudsters. Can’t stand how they’re basically able to do this because some bureaucracy going on behind the scenes. I see so many horror stories about contractors pulling stuff like t

Regulations aren’t some magic want that don’t come with side effects, though. IMO, they tend to not address the root problems and only add layers of abstraction. One of the best examples of this is how Sweden irrevocably killed their finan

Wow… AirTags on your luggage? What an incredible idea, lol. Really though… can someone who knows what they’re talking about (or a pilot?) tell us if the transmitting excuse is a cover or BS?

Lol, its always fun when people get this idea. On a more serious note, it drives me crazy when people move and immediately start trying to change things (most often, things that made the place unique). A good example is in east Austin peopl

I have no opinion on Gladwell, as I haven’t read any of his books, but I swear those 3 things seem to be covered in almost every “self-help” book I’ve read. I don’t want to blame the authors either… but it seems like everyone is getting th

True. I can agree with this. I guess I say fine in the sense that its more forgivable for a 12 year old to cheat. I would never suggest a 12 year old shouldn't be punished if caught in the act... or even retroactively.

By that I mean a more intense war with a higher risk of going nuclear, over Crimea specifically. I'm not a fan of giving in to the demand of bullies either... but what bullies have the ability to trigger the end of the world as we know

Well, maybe not directly, if given the proposition... but through agency, many do. I mean, someone has to be working the remote jobs to have such popularity.

If this is true, I think its perfectly reasonable for the world to speculate if Crimea is worth starting a nuclear war over. (and again, this can be done 100% without supporting anything Russia/Putin)

Honestly. It honestly seems to me people want to tear down the man who noticed the elephant in the room. I'm 100% "pro-Ukraine", what Putin is doing is ridiculous and there's literally no justification. I have been abso

I'm not a hater of fellow SDEs but at the end of the day, what did people even do at twitter? Seemed like they spin wheels only to push out and then kill half-baked features. Ofc, this could be "anyone's" fault but all t

I think the easiest answer to this is "does it hurt to learn it, though?" Many things you learn aren't directly applicable to everyday life... but learning how to think and _learn_ is priceless. I also assume there's mor

That's a question I was going to ask. Sure, not _every_ move is 5 min, but wouldn't a 5 min delay almost ensure any cheater would play mostly more than 5 min, each turn? (besides some simple moves, ofc) Or is it that they only n

How is "retaliating against criticism" contradictory to free speech? I could certainly argue with someone on HN but also say their banning is unjust (if I felt that it was). This has been a "solved" issue for centuries.
