Even worse when after writing these you get asked questions that you have already answered in the application.

One nice thing for a new contributer is there is so much low hanging fruit everywhere. Can just open any app and you will see little things that would make for a good first PR. The codebase is also full of Fixmes, many of which are very app

Yeah, basically remote only. The vast majority of jobs in my city would be a pain to commute for, maybe I would 2 days a week at most but the opportunity would have to be way better than what I could find remote.

I have spent a long time in ecommerce and follow the results of a bunch of public ecommerce companies. It seems to be that Google basically collects the whole profit margin. Companies will do this to keep growth as high as possible to justi

The specs are pretty good though in that most of the handling of mangled HTML is actually defined in the spec. So while the specs are enormous, simply implementing exactly what they say to implement can get you most of the way there.

I notice that some jobs are listed remote with a specific location and some not. Any location requirements on the ones that are just listed "Remote"? Thanks.

Discord seems like the best UX to me. Only things I can think of is some weird UX around new call features and search could be better compared to say gmail (although I generally have no problem finding things I want to find).

Yep. I think it is useful to have a list of people you know incase you ever need to connect them, which is basically Facebook Messenger. The blasting life updates at everyone know ever knew part of it though is just so unnatural. It was a n

Depends on the normal usage, if someone was doing this across unique ips and slow enough that the usage change may be say 1% it wouldn't be noticed. A more sophisticated system that could look at the ips in use and compare to previousl

Efficiency wise you could probably just put in a day or 2 of catch up before going to vote. Would probably actually get a more impartial view on candidates not tainted by whatever the latest controversy is that will be forgotten in a week.

It is pretty easy to keep on top of news, just occasionally browse the headlines and pickup more narrow interest stuff via social media. Most things are just part of the 24 hour news cycle and don't mean much of anything, certainly not

eBay is arguably a bad example because they sure could do with a proper overhaul of their software that is halfway modenised with a bunch of rough edges accumulated over decades.

I'd throw up Gunfire Reborn. I don't really like FPS either but the character building RPG elements keep me interested. It is fairly forgiving in that an average player won't really hold the group back.

Not only a mess but they seem to have been halfway through modernising things for years. They built a new API but are probably never going to be able to get rid if the old one.

Shopify basically has the data for this. They could just exclude from the search sites that don't already get a decent amount of direct sales. There are other metrics as well like refunds/ chargebacks and return customers.

Ad tech went too far and has driven everyone to blocking. If the extent of ads was a couple of Google style sponsored text based results a lot of people would probably be fine seeing those.

Harpy on Android is pretty solid. Nice UI and loads fast. I seem to have some issues viewing threads when navigating to them from a retweet but I may just be missing something.

Presumably people are losing a lot of followers on Twitter broadcasting their political views when they are mostly followed for some other reason. These people might be motivated to correctly categorise their Tweets.

I think you can call the bluff. Putin wants to build an empire not have Russia leveled. Of course you are playing a high stakes game in actually doing this though.

I don't think the news has changed all that much, there still used to be a heavy focus on the same types of negative topics. What has obviously changed is the large amount of commentary that has sprung up around traditional newsreading

Sure there are some tweeks that could be made. I'll take what we have currently though over having a designer decide what we really need is something like new Reddit.

I wonder how many users they would actually gain from this. People that both care about browser engine diversity on iOS but don't already use the webview version of Firefox.
