How does this compare to Alacritty on Linux? I've been pretty happy with Alacritty for the past few years but I'm always interested in trying new things.

My biggest pain point with Balena in my previous job was that it used Docker; it's unfortunate that most of the solutions in this space (including Deviceplane) seem to do so. It's not really ideal in a number of installations to b

(new) GitLab engineer here. This is correct, it can be set to allow merge requests from "Only Project Members", or disabled entirely. You can also disable pretty much everything else as well, if desired. Disclaimer: nobody submits

Hah yes I've had this from NatWest. I always insist that they provide me with a number to phone them back, then check it against their website before dialing.

I use a Topre R2 that I imported from Japan, and I love it. The feel of typing on it is quite unique, and has replaced all my other boards.

I own two Filco boards and they are extremely solid. Also easy to get an aftermarket controller board (and easy to fit) if you want to make it programmable.

Interestingly the Logitech WiFi receiver for these mice can cause audio issues on some wireless headphones. I briefly had a pair of Sennheisser headphones and it picked up an interesting tick every few seconds. Though, to be honest, I think

I quite like Quassel, which doesn't seem to get discussed much. Has the ability to run the core and client on separate machines, decent customisation etc. I run the core on my home server and connect to it from elsewhere.

Charles Wheatstone was an interesting character. Obviously an extremely intelligent person, but it's a little unclear how many things he directly invented and how many were from his employees. The wide variety of his inventions is quit

I'd be very happy to receive any feedback you might have. I've been working on this for the past month and holding back on showing it around until it was basically usable. There's some details about the current state on this

I don't see how it's freeloading to not want to interact with a stupid popup chat robot. I will never, ever, use your stupid chat popup. Ever. So if I'm blocking it, you are losing nothing. Nothing changes for you when I bloc

I bought one probably about 3 years ago that is largely still good, albeit it has started eating paper when you try to print double-sided. It's pretty much solely a sheet-music printer for me so I suspect that aspect has failed due to

The most impressive thing about this for me is that Drew managed to work on this for 2 years privately and actually get it out there. I'm lucky if I can maintain concentration on a side-project for more than 2 weeks. To then have it pa

This sounds accurate to my now recently-ex company. The number of meetings have soared, to the point where they probably spend 2-3 days per two week "sprint" (it's really more of a hobbled walk) in project meetings. Not just

I have found it significantly easier to use, myself. Every time I try to use Docker Hub I get very frustrated very quickly and start trying out the competitors again.

I drove a new rental Peugeot (207 or something?) last year, wasn't actually bad at all. The interior no longer feels like they got the plastic from biscuit packets, at least.

I find AppImage files quite annoying, I must admit. I understand that it's annoying packaging for all the different Linux distros, but this doesn't feel like the solution. Maybe renaming them and dumping them in /usr/loc

Yeah those E3s are really awkward to find. I ended up buying it secondhand from the US for about £85. I think you'll be fine with the i3 for Plex encoding though; I can get a few decent streams going on mine before it starts to tax it.
