is the problem slack or people? same argument is said for facebook and facebook serves people since they use it a lot. This only validates the existence of slack for me.

I work at VMWare and I am pleasantly surprised it is not at all like that. Join VMWare's core team ;)

The answer is pretty simple: "Capitalizm". It doesn't fix all the problems. It fixes them for creating profit, and not every serious problem promises profit when solved.

this is super interesting in that I mainly use PostgreSQL and was wondering how to integrate a real-time database and sync the two for real-time stuff like comments. My initial concern is is this stuff stable for production use?

Do you not have to have a large dev ops team to handle upgrades or changes for each customer? I'd be against it to do more with fewer people, especially for an unproven < 5 year old startup.

Thanks for the comment - Medium is aiming to help writers to monetize (IMO its not working) and not serving recreational bloggers. Yes there were all these mechanisms to find and interact with blogs. But don't you think they can be mod

this is true, though with the assumption of blogging as it is in today's world where it is lonely and only a search engine can find you. if blogging was done inside a supportive community and network it could be less lonely and you cou

Thanks for feedback, I am considering both (a) Linux interface (b) Back to basics building at least a decent multitasking kernel with memory management.

Thank you for feedback. Do you think $49 - $79 would be justified for a %100 practical course, with about 2.5 hours of dense (not sparse to fill time) material?

Just curious, would you pay for a practical course if it existed? Asking as I am planning to develop one.

Typical of new technologies. You naively start building a startup thinking the new stuff (today that is react and serverless) will be more cutting edge. And then you find out the new stuff adds complexity you don't need especially whil

Your points are valid it's just the negativity is classic HN. I think this is partly due to HN design. When all you see is text and not the people writing them it is easy to be negative.

Wow this really looks awesome! It requires polish as most oss but this idea of an open web app store / cloud that is not tied to a vendor is amazing.

I think this is an idea with great potential. Making it work seamlessly would be a challenge. For example: Elastic Beanstalk for NodeJS gives you a good starting point for a web backend. However, I had to hand-edit the EBS environment confi

the problem is owning your content and platform is not enough. you need much, much better UX (User Experience). Millions of people are now using facebook groups thanks to its easy real-time comments and well thought out threads. Good luck h
