They haven't removed the Geo Location API from Safari because it means websites could steal your location. They added a dialogue to ask if you want to allow them to use it. I imagine a simular API for sound would surfice.

Yes very true, and you could easily hack once of the physical readers they use now. Almost every shop I go into seems to have a different make or model of card reader. I guess with Android there is more change of the device owner not knowni

I would be worried letting someone read my card information via an Android phone. Malware would easily be able to sit in the background and intercept information from the reader. At least on iOS you know any interception would have to be on

We actually used to do this at school, where in the winter we moved sports to be after lunch and then had afternoon lessions at night. We basically had a summer and winter timetable.

That would be ideal, if everyone worked on GMT and just started work at different times, rather than the same time in a different timezone. Technically we could all do that now anyway, just start using GMT rather than our local timezone :)

Flash was just a tool for the ideas not the cause of them. Technology changes but the drive for this sort of functionalty and interaction remains. I just wonder what the Flash haters are going to do when they realise they now hate JavaScrip

The key is that it decouples the services, we won't have to wait for service x to implement the api of service y. Instead you just say implement this intent and then boom you can use any service that supports that intent. This is huge for w

I normally go to wikipedia for a description of a service or product rather than sift through all the marketing BS that's normally plastered over a website.

Perhaps making drug companies non proffit to ensure all money went back into developing new drugs and perhaps less proffitable drugs (i.e. Drugs targeted at the developing world).

It would be interesting to see how this affected the MLS and therefore world soccer as a whole. The best players in the world could move to the MLS rather than the european leagues, and America could start to dominate at a national level. T

Yup, that's a black mark for sure. IBM's stock would rocket if they re-branded or killed of Lotus, it's over taken Real Player for my most despised brand of software.

My only exception to this rule is with the memory. Safari uses avaliable memory for caching web pages in tabs, which is understandably at a low priority. I often find that iOS will give priority to 'suspended' apps rather than 'suspended' t

Yes AIR has a fantastic install process, even installing AIR it's self. With the install badge you could also detect if it was already installed, and launch rather than download. It would shock you how many people would download and install

More of a worry is the fact Flex is dependent on the Flash player which as of yet has not been opensourced. A headless player is holding back CI in a big way. I also can't see FalconJS delivering a full flex stack without help from the brow

I originaly thought the iphone would be an iChat client running only on data via a network. With facetime and iMessage it looks like that's the way things are heading... Wireless networks are essentially ISPs.

Browser support is still a huge issue that people tend to gloss over. It's a problem any standards based environment will face. Native will always develope faster and be more consistent.
