I'm not an expert in these matters, but I am interested to see how this will be interpreted under Louisiana's redhibition laws.

You don't, however, I think the article is playing up the word "innovation" a bit too much. All I see is some guy (who works for Microsoft) writing a program to make his life a little easier.

I played with this OS, but didn't do too much with it. I remember reading a paper about it though. The author ported ext2 to Singularity. If I can find a working link, I'll post it.

I agree, although I wish I had a nickel for every article out there that heralds social networking as nails in the coffin of email.

It's interesting to hear that. I believe it was Bill Gates' advice that led Ballmer and co. to negotiate a buyout of Skype and comments were made in the same vein then as well.

Weren't Facebook engineers behind the Cassandra project and HipHop? Oh, and they have a list of projects their devs contribute to here: https://developers.facebook.com/opensource/

I think that Windows Phone 8 will require a new generation of hardware to run properly. Mango will be supported on current handsets according to the webcast.

I'm a little lost on your comment. If Microsoft is embracing and extending mobile phone technology (and the carriers that provide them), how would they ever go about extinguishing something as entrenched as this?

I'm not sure how much money they have made over the time before Apple imposed a 30% fee on book sales and the like, but I fail to see why they couldn't port their app to another platform. You know, instead of kicking the sand around and ca
