I think MicroPython has a really good clean codebase, more so than NodeMCU. But NodeMCU has been getting a lot better in that respect the past few months, and now has a solid foundation. The current MicroPython support for the ESP8266 platf

How does this apply to non-US based app publishers? Am I legally exporting crypto from the US if am not in the US?

It's based on HEVC which means that many of the patents that cover HEVC will cover BPG.

Re-using HEVC has very real legal implications. Which will hinder any mainstream adoption.

GCC has been around for 30 years. Only in the past 5 years has LLVM been around, and LLVM really is the only compiler to ever have matched GCC. The value GCC has provided to the software community in large is immense. Do you think it would

You're free to link to compiled GPL libraries. There is nothing forcing you to change the license of your product unless you intend to integrate the sourcecode.

An interesting aspect that has not been mentioned on flif.info nor here, is the implementability on silicon. How many transistors would be needed for and encoder? How about a decoder or a codec (encoder/decoder)? And what about clock s

In the context of this project which is yet to have a finalized specification I think the GPL is an ideal format. As a project it is important to have access to all of the pieces and avoiding incompatible forks of different kinds in the ear

Cortex-F7 (or just F7) is the ST brand name of their Coretex-M7 based products. ARM only sells A/M/R series of processors.

Oracle just like Microsoft just aren't trusted by the community at large. History tells us why. And there are good reasons: [1] Oracle tells Open Document founders to leave the project [2] Oracle takes over KSplice and stops providing

The workloads don't support that many threads. 8-core A53 chips exist, but they don't perform anywhere near what a 2-core A57 does for typical mobile workloads.

Maybe the American led coup d'état in 2004[1] has something to do with their misfortunes. Or the CIA involvement in the 1991 coup d'état. Or the occupation by the US in 1915-1934[3]. [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wik

A download cap of 300Gb on a 150Mpbs link is hardly generous, which is what Teksavvy offers in Ontario. It's a joke. And the only reason is to make you pay for the more expensive connection. Maybe also to hand you additional charges.

This app is pretty well polished and from an ideological standpoint very awesome. If you have any feedback/requests for I2P, I'm sure that zzz would be very interested since he did all of the I2P@Android work. Catch him on zzz.i2p or #i2p-d
