For servers, I would trust Debian over Ubuntu/Canonical any day. The way their releases work, the default set of running services, etc. In general, I personally prefer the way Debian works (Debian the Project - not the Distro). It has

I think GP post has a point. I've noticed people use Google really differently from how I do. E.g. I would go search for "figure concave" while my brother would search a longer phrase. Also, speaking of people behaviour, it w

With DNS there are a few problems: * Your name, address, and other details are exposed in Whois DB linking all your details to a real name / address. * You are subject to regulations on domain name use. For example if you have an .eu d

Our country had multiple car ride company launch a few years back and you could choose between Uber, Grab, Gojek, etc to get someone to drive you. The UI for Uber was the cleanest and most easy to use. I remember having to just do 2 steps t

I have had the same issue, and wishing we thought about that up the road rather than down the road is exactly the feeling when we huddle up for team meetings on optimisation. We could not have any down time for most days of the year.

I've ran a lot of systems for the past 15+ years and I can honestly say that for servers, Debian is the most solid I've been able to run. (Debian, not Ubuntu). Especially because of its release cycle and no-nonsense vision. I'

I've had to argue a lot of time at work on the merit of running a Debian system. Everyone coming in has always been keen on just getting CentOS up for a server. Outside vendors also just tell me: "we need CentOS X for this",

Its strangeness contributes a lot to scepticism when first presented with it. I have to admit I had this "you're making it up" reaction to allergic people. I literally thought, when I was a kid, that nut-allergy is overblown,

I have red meat allergy (specifically stronger for beef). IgE present for that specific test and all. I've always thought allergic people were over-reacting. I've never had any kind of allergies before, but when I grew up and trav

As an aside, I don't understand this (living in Asian country). We've moved past that stage of thinking whether we should or not. If I feel like sneezing or have a fever some day, I'll have a mask on. It's customary here

So after reading the github issues it seems the maintainer stopped in 2016 and since then no one continued the effort.

Development has stopped since 2016. Anyone has any idea why? Watching the youtube video of "Building a Todo" using Volt from 2015 brings me back to my memory of seeing the Youtube video of Rails for the first time.

Certainly, if one generalises anything far enough, everything holds true in broad strokes. It's like saying if we look at history by the billions of years, what we do has no impact whatsoever (what you do today has no meaning since you
