Four people saw it with their eyes. David Fravor has talked the most but there were two planes, each with two pilots.

Did you really mean to say you swam 10,000 yards in one session? At the pace you mention (50yds = 1min) that would take over 3 hours.

I have a 2012 MacBook Pro, and I upgraded the SSD by myself. Has something changed? I see articles online that suggest it's still pretty easy to unscrew the cover and plug in a new SSD.

I can go to BestBuy and get a 1TB SSD for $140. Is there any reason to pay $200 more for the MacBook Pros with bigger SSDs, rather that buying the drive separately?

Good. Amazon has sold me garbage and dangerous products. Example: I bought a MacBook power adapter from them (not Apple branded). When I went back to review it the product page was gone. In 220 volt countries, it would cause all connected t

Didn’t they already release new MacBook Pro models in May? Is there another release coming in September?

As someone who just started using Kotlin again, I'm curious what you mean by "agenda". A typical company trying to make products for money, or something else?

I wish they would add tail calls to the VM. It would really help functional programming. It's doable but apparently not considered a high priority.

I have a harder time (at least as a beginner) with Russian than I do with Mandarin, because of the multiple cases and verb forms. In Mandarin I learn one word and can use it. In Russian that word has 10-20+ different forms. (This is about s

Thanks! Those links give me a lot to explore. I'm trying the game... level 4 just taught me something.

I tried to read Griffiths once, but I couldn't learn that way. I wish there were a path to learn quantum mechanics from a programmer's point of view, with "how to" knowledge rather than only the declarative language of m

Has anyone used Racket for a long running application server? Last I remember it did not have native threads (ie, it could only use one core), and I don't know about it's reliability compared to something like the JVM.

I wonder how hard it is to defeat ASLR, once you find a buffer overrun: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Address_space_layout_randomiza...

My tests so far are encouraging. I'd like to know their intent with Scala. That plugin seemed to go nowhere for years, and ScalaIDE/Eclipse looked like it would be the only option. But ScalaIDE is still pretty buggy. If they are

Just trying the Scala plugin now. I really want to leave Eclipse. I wonder if it will show me implicit conversions and parameters, and if will handle hairy stuff like macros. And does it use the presentation compiler like ScalaIDE/Ecl
