> One of the things that interests me about this paradox is that when you're left with just two doors, the odds of either of them being the one with the car is 50%. Well, no, that's the point of this, it's not 50%. Before

I came to a similar position recently. Bought a new laptop intending to run Ubuntu on it for personal development work. But the pet management story on the newer Intel CPUs just doesn't compare with Windows 10. WSL is pretty damned goo

It depends how you donate, but for payments direct from payroll (if your employer supports it) you essentially pay out of your pretax income. For cash gifts the charity can claim back 25p in the £ on your gift. For property, land and shares

I'd be interested to know if any developers are investing in swift outside of the Apple ecosystem. Given that the language still seems to be in flux (the v2 -> v3 transition didn't appear seamless), why would you pick it?

I disagree, the poor quality and bad HDR really detracted from the images for me, they were painful to look at.

Given that the campaign was so divisive and acrimonious, what makes you think the losing side is just going to say 'ok' and get on board? If they think he's going to be as bad as they say surely they should do everything to f

I wonder if you're from the US, because I heard that Nokia as a brand never really quite took off in the way it did Europe. Over here before smartphones came along you were pretty much mad to buy anything except a Nokia. So why didn&#x

This is part of the wider issue of who is responsible for driverless cars. I buy insurance for a car that I drive, and the company charges me based on risk factors (age, where I live, how often I drive, etc) and the driver alone is ultimate

That's an asinine argument, as a tax payer I'm "forced" to subsidise many things I don't personally benefit from. Ensuring that the next generation of society is well adjusted and participative seems as sensible an

Higher GDP growth as a percentage? Comparing developed economies to developing ones with that metric isn't particularly useful.

Until article 50 is invoked we're not out. And until that happens why should I accept it? The EU is no less democratic than the UK itself, and talk of "taking back democratic control of my country" is xenophobic even if you d

I know there's a lot of nostalgia involved, but in my mind this was a pivotal moment in gaming. The step up from Doom (and alikes) to Quake was huge. Not to mention how well designed and balanced the game was. I wasted so many hours pl

Phone hardware is not the problem they have, Ubuntu phone is. The UX is bad, the app situation is bad (no, mobile websites are not sufficient), it has no point. I got jaded after seeing the Ubuntu TV announcement which quietly went nowhere,
