Ok yeah, I see what you're saying. I'd say maybe they didn't opt of of the things they thought they did. Mastodon is still social media, public things are still public, they opted out of the scale of Twitter but not the rest.

How is it not social media? Looking at joinmastodon.org tells me it is. How are people still having to rediscover the fact that posting something publicly means you lose control of it? If you don't want your posts to be publicised, don

Doesn’t support “legacy” IoT protocols in favour of websockets? This might be fun but it’s not serious.

The interesting part of this article was the subjective reasons to avoid functional arguments. As the article says you most commonly see them used in initialising something, the performance difference identified in the benchmark is unlikely

You're getting downvotes for saying it, but I had the same thought. If I'm getting my camera out it's because I want to take a photo of something I want to remember or see again. Never once have I thought of taking a photo of

If they’d just let me transition my account to a normal one so I don’t lose everything I’ve purchased in the play store that’d be fine. I don’t need everything else, I just don’t want to lose what I’ve already paid for.

Interesting, but not surprising, how he doesn’t screenshot the rest of the table that shows hospitalisation and death per 100k is vastly higher in all age groups for the unvaccinated

That’s not completely true either. The UK phase 3 trial of the AZ vaccine included weekly testing to catch asymptomatic cases.

Great, but take the example in the article. I roll in with my heavies and at gun point force enough of you to vote that the contract was complete even if it wasn't. You can't engineer people away and when you try you've undou

Really? I’d be interested to see your numbers as is pretty well known that the UK spends a lot less than the US to treat its whole population https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-42950587

If you're interested in mqtt over constrained networks with embedded IoT devices you should take a look at what's being done to formalise MQTT-SN (MQTT for Sensor Networks)

It's not just about VAT, but the other frictions of the new border. Direct selling from the UK is now much more awkward and the recommendation to have a subsidiary in the EU that the UK business ships to and then distributes from there

So? The EU had other land borders with non EU countries. There are 25 road crossings between England and Scotland compared to 300 between NI and ROI and no GFA to sustain.

It's about production lines, the cost to manufacture the same thing to different standards is more costly (generally) than just producing one thing to the highest standard and selling it to both markets.

Which countries? What major untapped markets are in need of what the UK exports but don't already have it? About 60% of our exports are services, particularly financial and insurance and we just lost passporting rights to the EU on tho

That's only true if nothing changes. Discovering that dexamethasone can reduce mortality means that from that point onward the area under the curve is reduced. Once we have a viable vaccine again the area is reduced. Given the economic

When demand outstrips supply by a large margin (and supply cannot be increased) there is no need for collusion for prices to be high, and no incentive to lower your own prices to compete because you can't sell any more of a good you&#x

Is this a smaller version of jumping stilts? There's no battery or other energy source inherent in them, but you can run really fast while wearing them, not sure a marathon in those would be considered legitimate.

I see what you're saying, but I guess that's a side effect of how effective these shoes are. If you're any kind of serious runner who wouldn't want an extra 4% performance for free (or $250)

You know what he meant, if you want functionality comparable to the Go stdlib you are going to have to choose between Core or Batteries, then for async do you choose Async or Lwt? And as said the build system (when you're used to Go) i

If you follow the minutes of the MQTT TC at OASIS, after the release of MQTT v5 there is now talk of formalising the MQTT-SN spec in a similar fashion, that should lead (in time) to more robust implementations.
