I'd go for a full-fledged BSD subsystem, myself. From what he wrote on the blog it sounds like this would be a pain in the butt to use for anything substantial.

Probably the best advice, to be honest. At least it's what I do after getting tired off issues like nvidia screen tearing and things just not working as smoothly as they do in windows (for me, at least).

You have to shift your thinking to realize that their problem isn't with words or even knowledge itself; but with protecting their power or ideology. In short, fanatics and power mongers are always going to fanatic and power monger.

Even taking the problem at face value, the idea of the WHO being in touch enough or able to avoid tripping over their own feet to actually address the problem in any kind of meaningful way is ridiculous on its' face.

I'm guessing it depends on who you are. If you're small potatoes (a desktop user) then you literally don't exist to them. At least, I haven't heard any stories about them raking old grandmas over the coal for using the v

I can kinda understand. I'm looking at MAME (again) because I'm seeing people here say it emulates synths and because I'm interested in some older systems it emulates that simh and qemu don't quite (eg SGI, though qemu

It sounds ike CHDs are hard disk images -similar to vhd files? While ROMS is semi-obvious (game images or firmware), "extras" can probably mean just about anything ...

not sure if this is what you mean; but you can make a backup file (ova) of your VM and it'll run on any platform that Virtualbox supports. As far as I know, qemu doesn't have an option like that, nor does VMWare Player. I don'

I love 86box to death, I really do. But it's apples to oranges. Simh is an emulator platform -closer to MAME than it is to PCEM/86Box. Unless I'm imagining things, there was an IBM pc emulator made for simh 5 or 6 years ago b

There's a copy of a MS-DOS 3.x kit around in the wild, yes. I think it might be 3.2, but I'm not sure. When I say "in the wild" I obviously mean "yo ho ho and a bottle of rum"; nothing authorised.

I love the heck out of this project as well! The nice thing about it is that there are a number of specific models of computers emulated. You have specific Compaq Deskpros, for instance (1986, 1988); XTs from 1982 and 1986 (?), all manner o
