Anecdotally I tried DuckDuckGo and found it really irritating. It is just a bad search engine and seems to not be very good at finding what you need unless what you need is something very common. Surprisingly, Google seems to listen to what

But suppose that some time from now someone moves all that BTC into a different cryptocurrency, potentially via automated services like shapeshift. What happens? How do people punish him?

Well if we're talking about the possibility of an offline attack against a password database that's a bit different. The standards for a good password are higher for that attack. But anyway if you pick a password from a list of 20

Well there is one important factor about these 20 trillion passwords: are they associated with real user accounts? If not then it really doesn't matter that they got published. They're useless to hackers without knowing what email

If the service doesn't care about security at all then you could just not have a password, log on using your email. If it cares a little bit then you have to characterize exactly how bad it would be if the account was compromised. The

Just a quick point that is worth considering: If a user types in a password and that password appears once in the HIBP breach list, then it is extremely likely that the source of the password in the breach list IS that user. If it appears 2

well when the password got breached it is associated with a particular user. And HIBP will tell you how many times a given password appears, but not which account it appears with. See: https://haveibeenpwned.com/Passwords

If the password actually has a lot of entropy but it appears in a breach then that's some fairly strong evidence that the user is reusing it. Specifically if it appears n times in the HIBP database you should assign at least roughly

This is bad advice. Never buy shelter animals, buy a bread dog or cat. Shelter animals and their problems will cost you more money over time and cause more problems. I speak from experience. People who talk about how great shelter animals a

Probably the best cold battery is to have a freezer compartment that's full of salt water which freezes at several degrees below 0, and some kind of adjustable heat link between the freezer and the fridge.

How do we get to the $6 trillion figure though? This article from BI indicates that 30,000 charging stations will cost $8bn, which is roughly 0.1% of the $6tr figure. That's for the whole US! Where is the other 99.9% of the $6tr coming

It would be nice to have a comparison cost for the cost of gasoline infrastructure globally. Also, $6Tr seems on the high side to me. That's the same as 150 million $40,000 electric cars. Is the infrastructure really that expensive?
