Oh, Less Wrong is awesome. It's a group blog running on a rather cool hack of the Reddit source code. The founder and most prolific and frequently upvoted blogger is Eliezer Yudkowsky. My favorite single piece by him is probably That Alien

I assume you read Less Wrong? The median founder and VC probably never think about the concept of the personal utility function.

I think a great deal of confusion with this issue is the assumption that someone that advocates socialism advocates 100% socialism. I wouldn't want to live in a fully left-libertarian (also called socialistic anarchism) society just like I

It could also be subconscious influence. I don't think that this is a copyright violation, but I don't know enough about IP law to know for sure.

It works perfectly for all of my personal email addresses that I have taken care to keep off of the web in spiderable form, but I get lots of false positives for my business email addresses that are out there as as a mailto:.

META: I would just like to point out to all potential commenters that the degree to which IQ is genetic is one of the most controversial unresolved recurring topics on Hacker News. The arguments never really seem to go anywhere.

I graduated from college 3 months ago and didn't get a real job and I haven't been looking for a real job. My Tim Ferris-like businesses pay the bills so I've had a lot of time to read on the internet. I also figured out how to keep up with

I would like to note that I and 44 people that voted me up initially missed that the feature and code as written were for all self posts, not just for ask posts. So far it looks like the feature is working perfectly; the vibrant discussions

I think this has been discussed before, but as you propose it, weighting submitting higher than voting is too subject to abuse. I also regularly submit things instead of upvoting them. Commonly I'll click on a story, then use the bookmarkle

We could answer this definitively by seeing if this design came out before or after Techcrunch's design. It's not really worth it though, because the design is generic enough that they could get away with stealing it. It's really more of a

FYI, green tea also has theanine in it, which is relaxing. Not sure how much theanine is found in white tea. If you want the relaxing effects of green tea without the caffeine, you can buy pure theanine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theani

Great feature, thanks. A parallel feature for "rate my startup" posts would be useful; those self-posts also tend to get lost.

Google and Facebook have somewhat different corporate cultures. You may be more comfortable with one culture than the other. Otherwise, go with Facebook. Your Google stock options can't appreciate that much faster than the broader US stock

The world still has a lot of wealth and is continually generating more wealth. The financial system is imaginary enough that our best macroeconomists can probably sort out the collapse of US government debt. It won't be pretty, but it won't
