Might be a controversial opinion, but I think we as humans have lost sight of the ball when we start letting capitalism drive ethics.

"Who stands to benefit from this?" is the easiest way to determine any leak's source.

What this article seems to also be missing is that there are actually two versions of the song. I'd say that the final recording is indisputably Lennon, but the original is very much McCartney. The final version's lyrics are abstr

Isn't Go's error handling basically just a procedural version of Either? It's a tuple instead of a sum type and the Left and Right cases are flipped, but otherwise I thought the entire point was that you're dealing with

#5 is a bit of a double-edged sword, isn't it? All RNGs that I know of would require a shared seed value, and with procedural generation, you can effectively path any/everywhere in parallel.

These are all just various degrees of obfuscation that will be defeated if it's worth the money. In particular these approaches seem weak to hardware, firmware, and driver side-channels.

Quite the opposite, I would think. Removing the gender references doesn't detract from the argument, so why have them at all?

Anyone who's acting like this wouldn't happen in Maven is lying. Just look at what happened when CodeHaus went out of business.

TBH I felt like a lot of this could have been resolved if he stayed involved with the community and opened issues with the relevant repos. Seems pretty classless to rage quit the community, brag about how much better Go is, then mark your r

The main problem is that URLs offer even fewer immutability guarantees than package management servers do, plus they're even easier to 1) break and 2) attack.

Maven is still garbage and 100 times more bloated than npm. It literally has all the same issues npm has, only with less support.

I think it goes beyond that. "Well designed" temporary signage needs to look out-of-place and basically intentionally ugly. Temporary signage that fits into the environment will appear permanent, and thereby ignored by the public.

I don't think so. The police have said that 1) the pedestrian was at least partially at-fault for not crossing at a crosswalk and 2) given the circumstances, the same outcome would have occurred with a human driver.

I'd like to know how implementing a template parser in JavaScript is more "Real JavaScript (TM)" than an actual function call (i.e., `React.createElement`).

No reason why React couldn't be implemented in WASM. I'm less bullish than you are about WASM, though, since DOM interaction is going to be the bottleneck no matter which way you slice it.

If you think XML doesn't suffer from all the same issues, you haven't used it enough. I'd use protobuf for something that needs stict serialization and parsing.
