I would not use a TOTP but a stateless HMAC token in this case. I was only evoking TOTP because the original comment mentioned a 6-digit code (which is not a proper way to reset a password).

Might depend on your location. For instance, in France a lot of freelancers are currently considered like "disposable employees": this borderline legal (your client is not supposed to have a subordination link on you) but as there

...and I hope you used a proper TOTP method to generate and validate this 6-digit code!

I do too, but I see way too many people "over-thinking" their resumes, especially in the presentation layout: if the raw data is clearly organized, the layout should be minimal, not the other way around

Can we bring back this form of resume, please? Information is clearly organized, easy to read, easy to remember. No need for 5-star skills ratings, dual-colored backgrounds, unreadable fonts, and whatnot...

Using a password manager in a sensible manner already goes a long way! Most synchronized E2EE services only ask for a master passphrase to encrypt your keys before storing them server side (e.g Bitwarden, Keybase, ProtonMail). Then you only

For simple use-cases and dev-oriented tools, this is a pretty nifty thing to do! Diagrams.net[0] is one such app that can use Git as a backend. Pretty awesome! [0]: https://www.diagrams.net

This should be part of the iOS setup screen: "For how many years have you been using iOS devices?" and automatically disable it if the answer is superior to 10!

Loved this soundtrack ever since the release of the movie! Fun fact: a lot of tracks are reusing parts of a previous Nine Inch Nails album called "Ghosts I-IV" also featuring Atticus Ross.

Yes I should have balanced my comment with « use the things you’re comfortable with ». From my perspective, setting up a QA suite + CI/CD + CaaS type hosting is done in an hour at the beginning of the project. But yeah you’re right YMM

Don’t sweat too much. Automate things as much as you can (adopt a DevOps philosophy), make sure you can switch laptop anytime (everything is backed up to the cloud, password manager, git repos, etc) and run your app exclusively from a cloud

I do agree with the reasoning here. For a few weeks / months, I have been trying to trust my first instinct / intuition more and more, sweeping away any second guessing when it comes in. So far, it seems to be working great and fr

I like your "dark forest" analogy! With students I used to talk about "fog" or simply "doing things blindly", but the "dark forest" image makes everyone want to get out there ASAP!
