Agreed! I use it and it's a breath of fresh air, I have to use Jupyter because of colleagues but I really prefer python scripts, and this let's me kind of run a Jupyter notebook as if it were a script, even with cli flags

I don't think about it at all, it's almost automatic. Like locking the door when you leave your house. I have a free moment, I enter a bus, I sit down at a table, boom phone. I may be an usual case as I believe it to be caused by

Tried to do some online research (heh) and it would appear that satire of public figures is just straight up protected by the first amendment. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hustler_Magazine_v._Falwell

Would generation of SELinux policies be a good use case for LLMs? "Generate a SELinux policy for daemon X. This daemon accesses it's config file in /etc and it's runtime data in /var/x. It listens on network. A

I feel like author used a lot of words to say "mmaped reads are IO (obvious) but critically, they are usually not awaitable like IO (bad)"

While author said that C's mmap suffers the same issue, I would argue C's mmap is fine, because C doesn't have async. The issue arises from the mmap crate not having an async read and the confusion around how does async work.

Yup that's what I meant! And I am worried that a replay attack would be able to bypass ruroco. Thus ruruco is not a replacement for good SSH security, which you have to do anyway. But like I wanna stress that I like ruroco and I might

Seems really cool! It seems pertinent to remember however that it isn't security as much it is obfuscation.

Afaik it doesn't. The only useful thing there is, is a deadline on each packet so the retransmission would have to be fast, but it seems doable. https://github.com/beac0n/ruroco/blob/ce766751b51c8ff6246a2

Disrupted implies by a new competitor which I'm not sure is always possible. We need strong anti-monopoly laws and strong enforcement of them.

I know it sucks but such is the price of C++ I'm not saying it's perfect but it's better than dealing with C++ exceptions. At least with error codes you can manually do some printing to find out what went wrong. With C++ exce

Android definitely has fine grained permissions. In fact my phone asks me each time a new app wants to use my location. Interestingly enough, I don't recall seeing a location prompt for Google's services

I couldn't find any mention on your website about LOCAL LLMs and according to your FAQ, it requires an account with your website. Is there a way how to run curiosity.ai fully offline, without an account on your servers?

I intuitively believe that from the beginning, markets are usually overly optimistic on the dawn of a new tech and I'm anticipating a correction in perhaps a few months or a year. Anyone knows how to short a stock on that time frame?

That's what I'm worried about. What if we start using Rye, bake it into our projects and then Astral goes "Sike! Now we will collect all information available to the Rye binary and require 1$ for each build"

Rye isn't aiming to replace apt. Rye is just aiming to do the same as Go, having one tool to manage dependencies. In current ecosystem there are many many different tools tho manage Python project's dependencies unfortunately.

I actually think that Python's tooling should not be written in Python. Because if yes, you end up with at least two version of Python, one to run the tooling, one to run the project.
