Most of us don't "change the world". You're not supposed to change life for mankind, you're supposed to change life for one other person and that's enough. I don't know what you did and what you failed at,

I think it might be much more than $2 trillion the US spent on wars. Remember Sept 10th 2001? Donald Rumsfeld said on this day, they can't find out how they spent $2.3 trillion.

After becoming a dad and having to change my baby girls diapers regularly, I recognized the effect bananas and potatoes had on her digestion system. My hypothesis is that these foods are too "new" for my European stomach. Now I mo

In a debugger you have to observe the changing state. If you print values you get a debugging log which (for me) is often more helpful, because I can easier map it to the offending code line. But it's good to have both tools available.

I used to have a small little app which tracked my sit-ups and push-ups, counting loudly in a voice you could choose. It challenged me enough to do something. Then my girlfriend made fun of me in front of others and I stopped doing this.

Debuggers help me when I'm stuck with some kind of bugs, like when I need to find out where a certain variable is set. But some tasks are easier to debug with print statements. And often I wish debuggers could go back to the previous s

Yeah, Chromium on Linux comes without the backspace history navigation for quite some time and I configured it to do the right thing for me: going back in history.

you don't navigate left through your history, you navigate back. That's why it is the backspace key.

I understand what you want to say, but you have to see this in the context of crypto lockers. I think it's a very realistic scenario that an attacker hacks into a router and then uses this position to encrypt the SAMBA Server in a MITM

I was a little bit active on Posterous. I was a broke student when Posterous closed and so I never made the transition to Posthaven. So my little blog isn't on the internet anymore, but I hope I have a backup somewhere.
