If a library is provided for developers to express the cloud stuff (including custom types), then I believe zero or close to zero static analysis will be needed.

It matters for consumer behavior, I think. In my opinion, the current energy crisis in France is more damning for the vehicle electrification plans than what you mentioned for gas cars. One thing is the government telling you to buy EVs and

Maybe people will decide to have two cars, then: gas and electric. Point is: it doesn't look good for the EV industry. Saying the oil industry is ugly doesn't help.

No, this is terrible for the EV industry. It causes uncertainty and removes willingness in private business and citizens to lead the change. More and more will start considering it may be better to wait and move only when the risk is low. S

True. Maybe there's a viable middle ground between Ubuntu & Arch. Perhaps with a focus on the audience (e.g. a web dev distro), it becomes viable to make sensible compromises on both (easiness & simplicity) that result in a goo

If we could combine Ubuntu's easiness of use with Arch's simplicity and performance, that'd be my ideal distro for work. I love Arch for its simplicity and performance. But it just wasn't productive for me to get everyda

If a method is not generalizable to the entire dataset, it's not that useful. When processing text at large scale, the usefulness of heuristic approaches like the one we're discussing diminishes rapidly.

"There's this guy that never worked in his life, and he died of a heart attack at 32". Someone in "/prowork" could write this and it would be equally relevant for my life choices. Meaning: zero relevance.

If you start processing web articles on the scale of millions you'll be surprised by how creative people can be. Not talking about tweets, just news and blog articles.

Yea, I was expecting a general-purpose model or dataset to train a model. The idea is great, but - as it currently stands - of no use to most people.

Tried this in the past, it's too limited... There are too many ways certain locations can be referred to. Take: New York City, NYC, NY, New York, NYCity, so on...

This would have been tremendously useful in a project I worked at a few years ago. It's really a difficult task to parse text at large scale with accurate geographical tagging.

Not contesting the possibility. Just the easiness to do it. I don't think it's easy and it probably requires some good level of intelligence to pull this off.

Yeah, in the future there will be only AIs developing apps and AIs using apps. There won't be apps, actually, they'll do everything programmatically. And all humans would have been killed by then in an AI doom.
