I think the OP is trying to suggest that the lower limit of 100 euro to get into the Hall of Honour is much too low.

I did some quick googling, but didn't pick anything obvious up: Blue Bottle Coffee has 'high-end' coffee shops that disallow laptops? If so, any reasoning behind this?

You need to update your tutorial page to reflect the new design. Other than that, this looks really cool. Good work, guys.

Well there are always going to be exceptions to the case. I would also assume there are a greater number of people going to coffee shops in San Fransisco than there are in other cities.

Is it supposed to be Kyubey? I pulled it up in vim, but the syntax highlighting didn't expose anything for me.

Well, there you go. (I googled 'android newsstand alternative' to no avail). Yea, I guess it is weird that this doesn't exist on Android.

From what I understand, it uses Newsstand. I don't use Android (so, please, correct me if I'm wrong), but I don't think Android has a single, unified Newsstand-like app to handle subscriptions and that kind of thing.

What were the interviewers trying to find out by asking those questions?

Well, if he eventually came up with the right solution, I would assume he understands OOP and overloading, as there usually isn't a way to just stop an interview and teach yourself core-foundations of a trade before answering questions. I t

That's quite a misleading title. I thought Germany had banned laptops nation-wide for some reason.

I see a few overlapping fonts (or, at least, overlapping names) from Google Web Fonts. But most seem new. Is there going to be a new competition over who has the 'cutting-edge' fonts?

Oh man, I feel stupid. I attempted to read the article at first, but Firefox, on OSX, didn't display anything at all. So I got confused and kept re-reading the first paragraph or so before I realized something was missing. By that point I w

Perhaps I am missing something, but how does a picture of Santa Claus, Rocket, 2 People, Fish, Pizza and other seemingly out of place things translate into "Let's go meet at Chipotle and..." I assume that this is an error. I couldn't get it

Having worked in an art museum for a while, I gained an appreciation for artwork I never really knew I had. One area I really liked was using newer technology in unexpected ways -- not just using Photoshop to make a cool image. A good examp

I can see your point. But the objective is to just create a barrier, no matter how small. Many people wouldn't pay $2 for an account on some internet forum.

I feel that this creates elitism. Anyone can buy a 'Pro' tag. What makes a person's comments, who is willing to spend money, better than one who is not?

The problem, as with all great communities, seems to be the abundance of new users and, thus, the widening of scope on submissions and comments. To me, it seems obvious that to improve HN, the community needs to stop expanding as much and g

I don't see any reason why this isn't a good idea. Getting internet access to more people can only serve to advancing America as a whole, I would like to think. Any reason why we should be against this?

I thought it was pretty interesting as well because I have always thought that game players played in the dark, the only light being their computer or TV. If you look at the big LAN party conventions, or LAN parties in general, they're alwa
