I remember when Gruber was telling us that Apple was not buying Beats for the streaming service and its associated contracts. The truth is Apple acquired Beats almost solely for this asset. This move makes totally sense if you consider that

Apple is A/B testing if it's the right time to make macOs even more like iOS with this change (small radio button but huge consequence). Looks like people are not happy with it so they'll probably roll it back but until when

This is huge. As an ex-Microsoft, I really don't understand that move. It doesn't make any sense. If the goal is to compete with the like of Facebook, I don't think it'll work as Linkedin is a business network. It makes

Right, I didn't notice at first. http://introjs.com/#commercial Looks like if you use it as part of a commercial product, you have to pay the license.

Cool stuff (plus they're French !). I wonder how this works with a standard thick notebook (with hard cover). Can I just put the slate beneath it ? And you still need to carry the slate. One concern though, it's only made for App

I personally prefer paper. The idea is nice but reaching a perfect product is hard. I won't buy this, some thoughts: - the pen is too big and low quality. It makes click noises when writing. - you can't use any pen you want and wr

I disagree with some other comments. I think it is totally possible that Apple removes Uber from their Store. That's the danger of all the "closed" and "restricted" app stores. 1- Uber has a web app that works on al

I feel like Apple is intentionally over simplifying it for the purpose of this letter or maybe to push back on the FBI ask more easily. Apple could propose to secure access to the FBI using the same level of security that it uses to protect

I'm not sure any OS really suffers from system crashes these days. The expected quality bar is now much higher (Fyi: I use Windows, Mac and Debian every day).

It is hard and costly to rewrite an app, even for Apple. In this case it means learning new skills (or hiring new devs). This is huge and will probably take years to be adopted. They could also force it at some point by releasing new APIs w
