BBC news has more detail on why the UK are rejecting this proposal: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-12879566 "It is right that the EU sets high-level targets for carbon reduction, however it is not right for them to get in

If it was simply a control issue then that wouldn't that imply that people should be as scared to take the bus or the train as they are flying in a plane? I don't doubt that there's a component of control involved, but I expect that the who

We're currently using Flying Saucer [1] for this in our app with good results. It supports mostly all of CSS 2.1, CSS 3 support for rounded corners etc… would be nice though. The fact it respects page breaks is a huge bonus. [1] - http://c

Not sure what the point of the ratings system is, there's not an app on there that I could find which rated lower than 4/5.

I'm half and half between "I'm currently working fulltime on my own startup" and "I'm working on a project on the side" depending which way you look at it. I'm doing 2 or 3 days a week freelance/contract work to support working on the start

I live in London and am working on a startup. I used to go to quite a few tech events in London but found I was spending too much time with like-minded people (techies) and not enough with people who had other backgrounds and interests. The

This is exactly what happened to me. I find myself being amazingly productive between the hours of 2 - 6AM and then getting up at 2PM or so. It plays hell with the social life though and I found that it isn't worth it in the long run.

My latest sleep hack has been to get a girlfriend who has a "proper job" [1] for which she needs to wake up at the same time every morning. If I'm woken by an alarm clock when I'm on my own it's very easy for me to hit snooze / turn it off

It doesn't even need to be a reset link, it could be a link with a unique ID which logs you into the site directly. I'd have thought that would be even more convenient than telling the user their password, as all they have to do is click a

This is the same as any online gaming site. I used to work for Victor Chandler [1] and there's basically a small number of companies who supply the games to all the different gaming sites. NetEnt [2] and Playtech [3] are the two which I can

Ah fair point, I don't use Chromium so hadn't noticed whether or not the effect was present. The page itself confused me though as I thought the inline images were meant to be working demos and they did nothing for me until I went to the de

Graceful degradation doesn't just mean "works without JavaScript". This demo doesn't let you link to (or bookmark) a page or open questions in new tabs. For an app like Gmail that probably doesn't matter, but for something like this I'd say

In this case I'd opt for "clean" as a better word for what you're trying to describe. I'd have thought everyone understands what a clean URL is without bringing across all the extra baggage/meaning of calling it RESTful.
