Really? I completely disagree. I think it's a perfectly good deterrent for most people without adding on annoying DRM or anything else that actually impedes the reading experience. (By the way, you do know that Apple silently embeds your na

When did VLC add Vimeo support? Love that feature for YouTube (just wish I could set a "max resolution" to play - that is, my computer/internet connection can't handle 1080p and VLC always plays at the highest resolution possible).

I do. Ever since finishing college and traveling frequently, I use it all the time to call family back home. It's more convenient than any other videochat solution and infinitely more personal than a voice call. After visiting family in ano

The beauty of it is that it doesn't need to be SEO-optimized. Go to google.com and G+ is at the top before you even have to search.

Agreed. I set up Orb about 5-6 years ago to stream my music and videos, but it was always too much hassle to make sure I left my desktop on (and that it didn't go into sleep mode). For music, it was more trouble than it was worth - I always

Does this mean you can now buy an officially unlocked iPhone, take it to AT&T, and activate it WITHOUT a data plan? (Better yet, can I do the same with a secondhand iPhone purchased from Craigslist that's already filled its 2-year quota

Technically, Apple showed off Lion last year and is going to release it this year. Microsoft is showing off Windows 8 this year and is going to release it next year. Nonetheless, this near-overlap happened around the time of Win 7 and Snow

The title should be changed to avoid editorializing. (The article clearly states they don't have the 4th label yet, they're only speculating they will in time.)

This is one of the best reasons to add a "Related Posts" section at the bottom of every blog post. (WordPress has multiple plugins that can generate this automatically for you.)

Not just anyone can PUT a book on the Kindle store for free. Unless I'm mistaken, anyone can do just that with Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing program. And then can't they set their own price, even free? https://kdp.amazon.com/self-pub

To me, it suggests that the iPhone 5 will unfortunately NOT have NFC (or at least not the built-in iPhone-to-iPhone payment system many of us expected). This is a real shame, as the fragmentation of Android means it will be hard for Google

I know the $114 price has been criticized, but I wonder if this is Amazon's way of testing the ad-supported model. Perhaps if the $25 is actually recovered through ads, then we'll finally see a $99 Kindle for Christmas. I do wonder, however

This is actually pretty cool. However, I would suggest an option to use a more descriptive, non-shortened URL (something like localgo.com/1600-pennsylvania-ave/). I don't see myself using this on Twitter much, but definitely in emails.
