I'd like to see this or a similar follow up project memorialized onto a small plaque beside the exhibit.

Anyone remember the Next Dynamics NexD1 Kickstarter? It was pitched back in 2017 as a "Multimaterial & Electronics" printer. Got to half a million or so in pledges before some of the backers uncovered serious red flags and Ki

Are there canned OS images / browsers / libraries / tools for resisting such fingerprinting? Similar in concept to how some browsers try to make themselves look homogenous across different users? E.g. Can the MTU / Maxi

How long do you think it will take for a case with the meat of the matter to work its way to a Supreme Court decision? I heard there were multiple suits filed within days of the order being signed; which one is closest?

Aye. You often solve a technical problem while working to build something and later it turns out that building block has more utility than the thing you set out to build.

Thanks for the info! I actually bought a real parallel port card years ago that plugs into a PCI port on my motherboard. Incidentally it also provides 4 serial ports. Only tried it on Windows, but it works great. If I recall there was som

I wish I could edit CAD models (in Solidworks or similar) while in a VR environment. Like, real work modifying sketches and dragging points around in 3D. When VR first came out (well, around the time HTC Vive was first launched) I searched

This is awesome! But it also makes me a little bit sad. The original parallel port and even ISA interface seemed so simple by comparison, with less layers of abstraction. Just run a wire, and write to a port. I remember when I was a kid,

Really old versions, sure. Newer old versions rely on Microsoft to activate them. Given the trajectory the indistry is moving toward, I don't have a lot of confidence that will last indefinitely. More and more features these days are

Great. So if I interpret this correctly, when companies go out of business (or drop support for product lines), your perfectly functional hardware will now inevitably stop working (or not be installable after you reformat your OS). Welcom

I have a question on rotary steerable drilling. I gather we're only talking about a degree or less of deflection on the steering head. But how does the km's long rest of the stack behind the head snake through the curves? Is it

Interesting how clear the original, pre-200BC ones are to read, and how they get less legible in the interim until modern times. Guess what's old is new again.

This is why I switched to Android 10 years ago. Unfortunately the grass isn't looking much greener over there these days. I'd love to hear from individuals who worked at these companies whether it disgusts them as much as it does
