Seems like it usually takes an event like this for a company to really crack down on their security practices. I would wager that Linode will be one of the most secure providers in the coming months. Whether or not people will trust them is

Keep it for the goodwill. I can't imagine it's a huge hassle to keep it going.. nobody is asking for them to continuously update and evolve the product.

Meaning you'll have to opt out of your contract (and pay early termination fees) prior to unlocking. At which point, you will have paid for your device in full. I think this is completely reasonable.

If that's the case then they should have waited to reveal the Pixel. I'm of the mind that you should buy a device for what it is, not for what it may be in the future.

I've tried to use Gimp as a Photoshop replacement for some years now. Each attempt results with me getting frustrated with the interface or I eventually come across a feature it lacks. I'm sure Gimp is fine for basic photo editing but I rea

Do the updates need to happen in the games themselves (with the original developer involved) or is this something that Valve can fix with virtualization? If it's the former (and I suspect it is) then I'm sure they'll have a tough time getti

I've seen an APK for Amazon Instant Videos floating around the XDA forums. It's too buggy to be truly usable on anything but a Kindle Fire but it's definitely a stand-alone app. If you've rooted your Fire, you'll see it sits in your app dra

Does Amazon even really want to sell the Kindle Fire? Bezos admitted that they make little to nothing on the hardware sales. It's just a window into their ecosystem; one that I'd be happy to patronize if it were completely platform agnostic

I'm quite a fan of Asana. It's free and a very simple task management system. If you ever bring another person on board it's easy to reassign tasks.

Not a big fan, honestly. It looks like it was designed in 2006. This could definitely benefit from less striped backgrounds and more whitespace.

I think the general consensus I'm getting is that Google+ isn't necessarily a place for you to connect with your friends. I use it primarily to connect with people I don't know that share common interests. I suspect many others do the same.

Does anyone know of a way to select multiple passages to be quoted automatically? A control+click/drag if you will?

Ignoring the hazardous nature of something like this - how economically viable would this be today? Let's say over a 10-year span driving 10,000 miles/year.. how much would I spend on gasoline at 30 mi/gal vs. plutonium?

I only had to read "I haven't used it myself" to understand why you have the sentiment you do. Try it. It's quite good and not all that different from Windows 7. Seriously.

I have no issues with syncing my stuff across devices. Works quite well, actually. And "NexPhone"? Really? Nexus + iPhone. Quite original.

To complete this analogy, waiters also provide you with knives, forks, napkins and dishes. These are the tools that make it a lot easier (and cleaner) to consume what the chef makes.

I believe he's saying to not use "placeholder" attributes to indicate whether a field is required because it disappears when a value is typed into it. Instead, you should use some helper text underneath the field.

I don't understand all the hate on the new Windows logo in particular. Am I the only one who doesn't have a problem with it?

Agreed. As a consumer I say good riddance to HP's products. What Vizio is doing with their PC lineup is far more interesting and I think they'll have a bright future partnering with Microsoft and their Signature series.

This interface is way too cluttered. They're showing a half-dozen arbitrary numbers per restaurant and that means absolutely nothing to me. The UX needs a lot of work and needs to get beyond this silly made-for-computers rating system. Do t
