It also has two A72 cores. My point was that you can get a board built into a nice laptop in Shenzhen for a lot less than the cost of the one in the linked article.

Eclipse Papyrus is open source, I have been told that recent versions have gone off in a strange direction though. Our use case is to be able to create models, they are the deliverable. Merging is a problem for us too.

I'm working in a project that uses SysML, an extension of the ISO standards group that originally developed it. There are problems in that none of the tools for it are compatible with each other but it works if everyone uses the same o

The Katevenis thesis describes another group at Berkeley designing an external I-cache chip to work with the RISC-II CPU, there are also a few pages analyzing how much difference a D-cache would make, doesn't look to me like RISC-II ha

One of the references in the Katevenis thesis is "J. Cocke: Informal discussion on the IBM 801 mini-computer, U.C.Berkeley Campus, June 1983".

The RISC-II thesis from 1983 references the 801, but it looks like IBM only started talking about it at around this time. The RISC-V project didn't start until 2010.

One thing that isn't obvious to me is if the "Struct Visualizer" window can let you follow pointers and open other windows to view the struct/class that they reference. I have used the equivalent feature in DDD a lot.

There are FM dongles that plug into a headphone socket, but building it into the phone from the start says to me that Nokia really knew how people would want to use it.

A lot of work, FreeBSD doesn't have support for the CPU. Running NetBSD on it but not loaded from Windows CE would be easier. It isn't obvious from the article whether the machine uses mask ROM or Flash. Some Compaq and HP Windows

The project has just moved to JIRA from Bugzilla. The original convention was to put the Bugzilla issue ID in commit comments, these IDs were carried forward when moving to JIRA so people can still search for them.

I'm trying to cleanup a Git tree right now where people haven't put JIRA tags in their commit comments, it is impossible to find out why a change was made, it isn't a totally stupid requirement.

An executable of 'cd' wouldn't do anything useful, it could only change its own idea of working directory then exit, the shell or other executable that invoked it would be unchanged.
