It's the old way of versioning things, somewhat formalized. With semver you live in this world where you are promised the versions to follow semantics, but human nature creeps in and we introduce breaking changes (like bugs!) without s

It's not all that shiny. Web components have global names (you should pretty much apply a prefix/namespace if you want to work with others) and managing multiple version of the same component in the same page is an issue in any no

I see that they recently changed the intro of WasmEdge on Github [1] to " WasmEdge is the easiest and fastest way to run LLMs on your own devices. " Since it's a wasm runtime capable of many things I find bizarre that they no

You have to go back to your codebase and edit every implementation of the component under the sun. <user-avatar> content is both a view and an interface, which is not obvious

What's the preferred way to version web components since their name is global and you can't risk breaking old usages when you introduce a breaking change? user-avatar-v2? What's todays suggested practice?

That's not the same thing, I think he's referring to the fact that in Rust you can keep unit tests and code in the same file, and strip them away at build time. That's not a thing in the js world (and most other languages), w

I agree overall, but you oversimplify the issue a bit. > can I push this YAML complexity into a script? - what language is the script written in? - will developers use the same language for all those scripts? - does it need dependencies?

Perhaps I misinterpreted what you said as "Even when performance is important, C# and Java are top performers". I read it as "they are the top performers", and there are faster rust frameworks in that benchmark, but perh

It's been a while, and overall I'd like them to succeed, but here are the first issues I remember. The fact that scoped elements are not yet part of the standard is quite a turn off. Every web component is global and the first one

I guess you didn't start from cvs or svn, because the experience moving to git was otherworldly. If git was your first versioning system than you had to learn some concepts first, which you already internalized when you switched to Mer

As an example, afaik, fullscreen apps create something else, like a temporary virtual desktop, and you can't assign keybindings to those since they are transient. The default animation is also a dealbraker if you plan on switching cont
