On a related note: has anyone used a good tool for using/inserting these kinds of custom snippets? It would be neat to have a snippet manager with quick search bound to a keypress.

I'm not religious but I've always liked this; it's fun to think of the SQLite developers as a small monastery. If monasteries can produce beer for the world (see: the Trappists), why not software?

Apple and Microsoft should really throw some money at Rui; Mold is a massive improvement to developer experience, and the sooner it's ported to their platforms the better. I find myself defaulting to Linux for Rust development these

That post by Scott Hunter was a way to save face after Liuson backed down. It is absolutely not truthful about the original reason for removing dotnet watch, and was widely criticized as such at the time. Please trust me on this; the whole

This. Bret Victor’s Inventing on Principle talk changed my life. And the funny thing is, he’s not pitching a tool or even his own specific principles; it’s largely a talk about how you can work toward a cause of your own choosing. But Bret’

I write a lot of .NET software that runs on Linux and for console apps, startup is generally comparable to Go - the impact of the JIT on startup times is greatly exaggerated in my experience. I'm less familiar with startup times for AS

FWIW, whenever I've profiled startup of .NET apps the JIT is pretty fast to start up. The only times I've noticed slow startup on recent .NET versions is with WPF apps, and that seems to be mostly because WPF does so much work o
