One more time: we cannot destroy our planet, even if we wanted to. We can make it less comfortable to live in some places, though. Also "we don't know where the point is, but we have passed it" is a very bad argument. "W

Yep. Ruby came from Japan, Ruby on Rails came from Denmark. Guido van Rossum is from Netherlands. Rasmus Lerdorf if Danish-Canadian. What's it about Danes and languages? :)

My understanding is that there is a dedicated team for each probe on the ground, so two rovers = two teams, twice the cost to support. Or am I wrong?

The point of bias frames is what you take them without accumulating any charge. Well yes, you cannot eliminate random noise, but you can reduce it. Also, most popular deidcated astrophotography cameras are now CMOS not CCD and readout diffe

The worst case I had to deal with was when reading War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. I can read Russian, that's not a problem. The problem is that about 20% is in French which I cannot read, and translation was given as footnotes. So ann

There are plenty of amateurs using actively cooled specialized astrophotography cameras with total integration times reaching hours (2-3 are typical). Readout noise can be cancelled by taking so called bias frames. Shorter exposures are so

I did lot of things, and even had to implement pixel perfect designs in IE5. Honestly, those challenges were a part of the fun. Not sure I'd want to go through the same again, but it was fun back then.

CSS clicked for me from the very start. It was always fun, I never had problems with it (aside from the browser bugs, of course). Maybe problem others have with it is not because of the nature of the CSS, but because of people ignoring tha

Sandy Metz' book "99 bottles" (there was a second edition recently, now you can choose between beer and milk and between Ruby and Javascript) tries to hammer those points in. I'd say it basically dedicated to the topic.
