You don't think there can be other reasons except attitude?

So really you did not do it? You had one complex app which was not cross-platform and then several experiments, but somehow you extrapolate what is possible and what is not?

No, it just speaks how far behind (and the wrong origin) of the mobile web apps tech is compared to native SDKs.

Do you really do ANY iOS development? Because you talk shit. Cocoa Touch is very consistent and I don't understand how can you call web tech mess superior to Auto Layout.

Hey, let's compare comparable things. I.e. native apps to web apps, not native apps to web sites, ok?

And now you got it completely wrong. Where did stuff like canvas, CSS animations and transforms appeared and who was driving that?

Well, for me broken internal links and a claim that some framework magically avoids 404 errors are worlds apart.

No, if you want native applications experience, make native applications. Now you are just breaking the web.

Exactly. This is a horrible misuse of the canvas element, alas, the moronic "war against native" destroyed all the good we had achieved ten years ago. I think then we had the golden age of web standards, progressive enhancement, g

Yep, writing Harry Potter series is not hard, you can do that with a couple of dozen of letters. The rest is just imagination.

I was also lucky that my "informatics" teacher took matters seriously and taught me how to program without a computer. Yep, we had programming class in school, but school did not have any computers. So she taught what basics (vari

No. No amount of resource will help with the kind of mental gymanstics required for programming (manipulating abstractions). Resources will help once you have that ability, but I am not sure how trainable it is itself.

How long do you think communication session using Arecibo would last? Edit: apparently some did not get the point I was making. Arecibo's dish is fixed, so there is practically no way to track the object. And earth is rotating. If you

I am thinking, maybe I should get an ad-blocker. Not tu reward the webistes, but stop punishing poor folks who buy ads and then waste money showing them to me, because I never click them…

Still baffling, that violence and murder you see on TV almost non-stop is not considered a big problem. Probably because it is not. Everyone is going to deal with sex. Only a few will have to deal with murder. Go figure.

OTOH I'd say currently balance is heavily skewed to needless dynamism. You cannot get some trivial page without JS enabled and god only knows what's going on on the server.

Same here. Three computers on Yosemite (including iMac from 2008), two iPhones, two iPads. I would not say zero problems, but those are mingo glitches at worst. Text messaging from any device alone was worth the upgrade.

Regarding finger, it was even more intense: he chopped it of, got it back, and then chopped it off again, because it has limited dexterity and he was better off with a shorter digit than with the "whole" but not as functional.

37signals (now Basecamp) should have a post or two about how they made a new version of the product fast. One of the points was bringing templates back to the server, iirc.

Tell us more how it is better structured and better documented than Backbone and what exactly makes it better for the large apps. The size of the app will hide the size of the framework better?
