It's so good. Tauri package size is 9MB vs 250MB+ for the Electron one.

At the start of the year I built Hotlist to get familiar with Tauri and to see if I could make it feel like a native MacOS app. I got a bit carried away and ended up with a lot more features than anticipated. There's multiple themes to

I’ve shared revenue milestones for a couple years but have been silent for a while now. It was an excellent way to attract some attention but also to motivate other developers that they can earn money building something they love. Downside

If packaging is made from non-recyclables a seller should be forced to take it back from a buyer. That way the packaging always ends back up with its creator.

Super frustrating. There’s a lot of “just do x” in stack overflow answers as well. It “just” makes the reader feel stupid.

If there’s no humans browsing your webpage but it’s just AIs parsing it and using the forms, then why invest time, money, and resources in cool interactive components / subtle animations / responsiveness / etc. AI won’t care.

It’s not the “it’ll build websites” part that worries me, it’s the “it’ll browse the web for people” part. When it starts doing that the relevancy of interactivity and design on the web starts plummeting as less and less humans will use it.

People remember their birthdate as a string of numbers. So why use a date picker for this and not go with 3 number inputs which would be a lot easier to enter your birthdate in.

This is why with redact.photo I randomly shuffle the pixels before blurring so it looks like you can reverse engineer it but you’ll just get scrambled pixels.

I have a bunch of eye floaters in both eyes. If I read text without dark mode enabled I see the floaters hopping from word to word as if I’m singing in a karaoke bar.

First tried to release my product on Envato but the market turned out to be a race to the bottom and it wasn’t sustainable, couldn't get past $3K per month without drowning in support tickets. Moved to sell the product on my own websit
